At SmartBear, you will be part of a dynamic team solving one of the most critical challenges facing modern businesses: ensuring the integrity of software in an AI-driven world. Whether you are working directly with customers, driving go to market strategies, supporting operations, building products, or enabling teams, your contributions help shape the future of software quality for organizations worldwide. Join us in our mission. The Role The way software gets tested is changing faster than at any point in the last decade. AI agents are beginning to write tests, execute them, triage results, and evaluate tooling — without a human browsing a marketplace. SmartBear’s Test Management portfolio, including Reflect and Qmetry, sits at the center of that shift. We’re looking for a VP of Product Management to lead this business. You’ll own strategy, roadmap, growth, and execution for a group of SmartBear’s test products and you’ll define how quality and testing integrate into developer workflows at scale. This is not a role for someone who views AI as a roadmap feature. It’s a role for someone who has a credible, specific point of view on where agentic testing goes, has shipped product decisions that reflect that view, and can build the organizational and GTM muscle to get SmartBear there. This is a senior product leadership role with direct customer and partner exposure, meaningful people leadership responsibility, and high visibility inside the company.   Location: Flexible / Remote Reports to: SVP, Product Management   What We’re Looking For AI product experience, not just fluency. You’ve made bets on where AI changes buyer behavior, shipped something, been wrong, and updated. You understand the difference between AI features and AI-native product architecture. You have a point of view on how agentic workflows are reshaping how software gets tested and how tools get discovered and selected by buyers who may not be human. Executive-grade GTM partnership. You’ve been in deal conversations, not just informed about them. You’ve made product decisions that changed revenue outcomes; accelerating deals, adjusting pricing or packaging, or shaping how the product shows up in market. Sales and marketing teams have trusted you as a strategic partner, not a gatekeeper. Proven people leadership at the VP level. You’ve led a team that includes PM managers, not just individual contributors. You know how to develop a management layer, make hard people calls, and calibrate performance at scale. Four to six reports, some of whom manage others, is the right level of complexity for where you are in your career. Deep enough domain fluency to be credible from day one. You understand the QA ecosystem; how teams work, where the pain is, how testing tooling integrates with CI/CD pipelines and platforms like Jira and Atlassian well enough to earn respect from engineers and enterprise buyers without a ramp period. Strong ecosystem and partner instincts. You’ve built or significantly shaped a product strategy in a platform-dependent context. You understand the tension between integration depth and product differentiation, and you’ve navigated partner relationships that are both strategic and competitive. 10+ years of product management experience, including leading product teams in SaaS or enterprise environments. Testing, developer tools, or enterprise workflow experience is a strong plus. What You’ll Do Product Strategy & AI Leadership Define and execute product strategy for SmartBear’s test portfolio, with a clear view of where AI and agentic workflows are changing the competitive landscape. Own the roadmap for how testing and quality integrate into SDLC workflows and how SmartBear’s products get discovered, evaluated, and selected in an increasingly AI-mediated buying environment. Ensure product architecture and positioning keep pace with the shift from human-driven to agent-driven tool evaluation, including API surface, integration depth, and structured metadata that make products accessible to agentic orchestration. Align product strategy with SmartBear’s Application Integrity evolution and ensure coherence across Reflect and Qmetry and the broader portfolio. Engage directly with customers, partners, and external stakeholders to keep strategy grounded in real-world usage and adoption dynamics. Growth & Business Outcomes Drive adoption, retention, expansion, and revenue growth for your products, with accountability to portfolio-level targets. Partner closely with GTM teams on pricing, packaging, and ecosystem strategies and serve as a key voice in how Test Management shows up in market. Optimize across product-led and sales-led growth motions, including AI-influenced discovery and evaluation paths. Identify expansion opportunities across customers, channels, and partner ecosystems, including positioning within platforms where AI agents recommend tooling. People & Execution Leadership Lead and develop a team of Product Managers, including PMs who manage others. Set clear expectations for roadmap quality, discovery rigor, and execution discipline and hold the team to them. Partner with Engineering and UX to deliver high-quality, reliable releases on a consistent cadence. Build operational muscle: quarterly planning, cross-team alignment, and a PM org that runs without hand-holding. Cross-Functional & Partner Collaboration Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success on GTM alignment, enablement, and external narrative. Serve as a key product voice in customer, partner, and analyst conversations, owning the external story, not just informing it. Build and maintain partnerships with key technology and channel partners, including Atlassian and relevant platform ecosystems. Ensure feedback from outside the building consistently informs roadmap decisions. The Environment SmartBear is a PE-backed, financially disciplined company that operates with the rigor and business ownership mindset that comes with that context. This role is for someone who thrives when they must build a case for investment, defend a roadmap under real financial constraints, and measure success in business outcomes, not just product output. Why This Role Matters The testing space is being reshaped. AI is changing not just how software gets tested, but how testing tools get discovered, evaluated, and bought. SmartBear’s test products are a critical growth engine, and this VP will determine whether we lead that shift or chase it. The right leader will bring a specific point of view on where agentic testing goes, the operational discipline to run a high-performing PM org, and the GTM credibility to be a trusted voice with sales, customers, and partners. That combination is rare. If that’s you, this is the role.
