The Senior AP Specialist serves as the AP subject-matter expert for FAR allowability, DCAA compliance, and complex invoice review, while supporting month-end close and audit activities. This includes daily compliance monitoring, approval hierarchy integrity, reconciliation to payroll and the general ledger, and audit readiness for time and labor data. The position supports month-end close and both AP and timekeeping audit activities.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently review and process vendor and subcontractor invoicesApply FAR 31 cost principles and determine allowable vs. unallowable costsEnsure proper coding to direct, indirect, and unallowable accountsPerform and oversee 3-way matching where applicableResolve complex invoice discrepancies and vendor issuesSupport month-end close and AP reconciliationsMaintain audit-ready documentation and support DCAA and external auditsServe as the accountable owner of company-wide timekeeping compliance and system control owner for timekeeping governanceMonitor daily time entry compliance, including verification of hours logged and confirmation that no timecards remain openReconcile timekeeping system data to payroll and general ledger records, investigating and resolving variancesDeliver new-hire timekeeping onboarding and periodic supervisor/employee retrainingMaintain documented standard operating procedures and compliance scorecards/KPI reporting for timekeepingRequired Qualifications5–8+ years of Accounts Payable experience preferredDirect GovCon experience preferredStrong knowledge of FAR cost principles and DCAA expectations preferredExperience supporting audits in a regulated environmentERP/accounting system experience (Costpoint, QBO, NetSuite, Workday, or similar)Bachelor’s Degree preferredStrong Excel skillsHigh attention to detail and comfort owning compliance deadlines with executive visibilityRole Level JustificationMarket-aligned Senior AP Specialist / AP Lead roleIndividual contributor (no direct people management)Requires independent judgment and compliance expertisePriced appropriately for Dallas GovCon market-------------------------------------------The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000 USDThe salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors.
