Job Requisition ID #26WD98676Position OverviewAutodesk is seeking a Director, Communications Business Partner – PDMS (Design & Manufacturing) to lead the development and execution of integrated communications strategies supporting one of Autodesk’s core product groups.In this role, you will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, shaping both internal and external communications to advance business priorities, strengthen Autodesk’s position in the Design & Manufacturing market, and elevate executive visibility across industry, media, and investor audiences.You will own the end-to-end communications strategy for PDMS—spanning executive communications, thought leadership, media relations, and internal alignment—while leading and developing a high-performing communications function.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communications LeadershipDefine and drive an integrated communications strategy aligned to PDMS business priorities and Autodesk’s broader narrativeTranslate complex technology and product strategies into clear, compelling narrativesServe as a trusted advisor to senior executives, shaping messaging and positioningDevelop quarterly and annual communications plans tied to business outcomesExecutive & High-Impact CommunicationsLead executive communications including keynotes, investor-facing content, and Board materialsBuild and execute a thought leadership platform for PDMS leadersDevelop high-impact content including speeches, presentations, and messaging frameworksDrive strategic speaking opportunities aligned with business prioritiesExternal Communications & Industry InfluenceLead media relations strategy and build relationships with press, analysts, and influencersPosition Autodesk as a leader in Design & Manufacturing through storytelling and engagementPartner with global teams to amplify product launches and customer storiesEnsure consistency in messaging and brand voiceInternal Communications & Organizational AlignmentDevelop internal communications strategies that align teams to business prioritiesDrive clear, consistent communication across a global, matrixed organizationSupport key internal moments including All Hands and leadership messagingEnsure connectivity between internal and external narrativesTeam Leadership & Cross-Functional CollaborationLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing communications team and/or agency partnersCollaborate with Product Marketing, IR, Industry Communications, and Global CommsOperate effectively in a matrixed environmentEstablish scalable processes and workflowsMeasurement & Operational ExcellenceDefine KPIs to measure communications impactProvide insights and recommendations to leadershipManage budgets, resources, and external partnersMinimum QualificationsProven ability to influence and advise senior executivesExperience leading integrated communications strategiesExperience leading teams or managing agenciesStrong media relations backgroundExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to operate in a matrixed organizationStrong project management and analytical skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in design, manufacturing, engineering, or industrial technology sectorsExperience supporting product organizationsGlobal communications experienceExperience supporting major industry or investor eventsLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $157,000 and $281,930. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
