Job Requisition ID #26WD99483Position OverviewAs a Visual Experience Designer (VXD), you will help create intuitive, beautiful, and cohesive product experiences that delight customers and support Autodesk's design standards. Working closely with Visual Designers, Interaction Designers, UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers, you will contribute to product experiences across web, desktop, and emerging platforms.This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about visual design, eager to learn modern product design practices, and excited to grow within a collaborative design organization. You will apply design system standards, create high-quality visual assets, and develop your skills in product thinking, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.ResponsibilitiesCreate high-quality visual design deliverables including UI mockups, icons, illustrations, presentations, and production-ready assetsApply Autodesk Design System standards and established design patterns to ensure consistency and usability across experiencesCollaborate with UX Designers and Engineers to translate concepts, wireframes, and requirements into polished user interfacesSupport the creation and maintenance of reusable design components and visual assetsParticipate in design critiques, workshops, and team reviews, incorporating feedback into design iterationsContribute to prototypes and design explorations that help communicate ideas and validate solutionsWork closely with teammates to understand customer needs, business goals, and technical constraintsStay current with design trends, tools, accessibility considerations, and industry best practicesContinuously improve craft skills in visual design, communication, and product design executionMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or equivalent practical experience0–2 years of professional experience in visual design, product design, UX design, or related fieldsPortfolio demonstrating strong visual design fundamentals and attention to detailUnderstanding of typography, color, layout, hierarchy, and visual composition.Familiarity with modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similarBasic understanding of user-centered design principles and digital product designAbility to communicate design decisions clearly and receive feedback constructivelyStrong collaboration skills and willingness to learn from othersPreferred QualificationsExperience with design systems and reusable UI componentsExperience creating interactive prototypes and validating design conceptsUnderstanding of accessibility and inclusive design principlesKnowledge of motion design, illustration, or iconographyBasic understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and modern web application conceptsExperience working in collaborative or cross-functional team environmentsFamiliarity with AI-assisted design and product development workflowsExperience using AI-powered tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Lovable, Vercel v0, Stitch, Pencil, or similar platforms to accelerate design exploration, prototyping, content generation, research synthesis, and collaborationDemonstrated curiosity and willingness to adopt emerging AI technologies to improve design quality, productivity, and customer outcomesUnderstanding of the opportunities and limitations of generative AI in user experience design, visual design, and product developmentThe Ideal CandidatePassionate about design, technology, and creating exceptional user experiences.Curious, humble, and eager to learn.Detail-oriented with strong visual craftsmanship.Comfortable seeking and applying feedback.Excited to collaborate with diverse teams and disciplines.Able to balance creativity with practical product constraints.Motivated to continuously improve both design quality and customer outcomes.What Success Looks LikeWithin this role, you will:Deliver high-quality visual design work with increasing independenceDemonstrate proficiency using Autodesk's design standards and systemsEffectively collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineersContribute meaningful design ideas during reviews and discussionsDevelop strong presentation and communication skillsGrow from executing established patterns toward helping evolve and improve themLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $77,000 and $112,200. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
