We are looking for a Manager, Real Estate & Facilities, to join our Facilities team in Ann Arbor. This is a unique opportunity to oversee and drive the performance of a large, complex facility while elevating its operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing workplace environment.This role requires a hands-on, self-starting leader who is comfortable assessing current conditions, identifying gaps, and implementing practical solutions. You will play a critical role in stabilizing operations, establishing processes, and delivering a high-quality experience for colleagues and future sub-tenants.About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishmentsBachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experienceMinimum 7 years of experience in facilities operations and managementMinimum 4 years of experience managing direct reportsIt would be great if you also have . . .Experience managing end to end real estate portfolio processAbility to oversee contractors, subcontractors, and engineering partnersExperience managing procurement processes for external vendorsExperience managing facility operations, maintenance, and vendor relationshipsAbility to review and manage budgets, forecasts, and operational costsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsWhat will you be doing in this role?Lead and manage a team of facilities professionals to ensure high-quality service deliveryOversee end-to-end facility operations, including maintenance, safety, and complianceDevelop and execute facility optimization strategies aligned with business goalsManage budgets, forecasts, and ongoing operational costsOversee contractors, subcontractors, and vendor relationshipsEstablish bidding processes and procurement strategies for facility servicesDevelop and maintain environmental health and safety programs (including emergency planning and business continuity)Manage real estate operations and act as the primary contact for sub-tenantsSet team goals, track performance metrics, and provide coaching and developmentSupport staffing decisions and team growthAbout the TeamThis is a high-visibility team that plays a critical role in ensuring a seamless workplace experience. The team partners with internal stakeholders and external vendors/contractors to maintain and optimize facility operations.Success in this role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset—someone who identifies needs, takes initiative, and follows through to completion. This is a role for a leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, building structure where needed, and driving continuous improvement.Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, onsite position based in Ann Arbor, working Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST, with flexibility as needed.
