We are organized by industries like Consumer Electronics, Home & Garden, Fashion, and Motors. Our focus is on driving eBay’s growth by delivering a flawless user experience and supporting seller success.The Senior Category Manager will oversee and grow one or several categories within the Motors Vertical team. This role involves defining strategy, managing regular operations such as insights, reporting, and trading, maintaining relationships with assigned brands and retailers, and working closely with the Product Management department to improve the categories’ user experience. The Senior Category Manager will also direct larger projects that span multiple functions and categories.What you will accomplishBe part of the global eBay Motors team and drive key Motors projects in cooperation with multi-national partners and collaboratorsProvide ongoing inventory/category management including coordination, delivery of category insights, and marketing of inventoryAnalyze inventory insights, product trends, market data, industry dynamics, customer shopping trends, and the competitive landscape to assess growth opportunities and product improvementsManage business performance based on defined benchmarksConduct market research and competitive analysis to provide insights and recommendationsBuild and strengthen relationships with sellers and manufacturers to identify and implement scaling opportunitiesIdentify and source relevant and market-leading inventory to support execution of strategyCollaborate with other teams (marketing, customer service, product management) in planning and accomplishing campaigns and initiativesDevelop and communicate project results and success stories within the organizationWhat you will bringStrong experience in category management, business development, or project management, preferably in Automotive or Parts & AccessoriesProven experience negotiating ranges & promotions with suppliersIndustry experience in consumer goods, retail, e-commerce, or consumer techAbility to drive projects to success with a high degree of ownership and dedicationExcellent analytical skillsStrong communication and presentation skills in German and English (both proficient)Ability to build rapport with collaborators at all levelsAdvanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel, with Tableau and SQL preferredGreat teammate with strong interpersonal skillsGeneral proficiency with job-related tools and systemsAdditional DetailseBay is an equal opportunity employer.
