Scope:Blue Yonder Data Science and Machine Learning team works closely with sales, product and engineering teams to design and implement the next generation of retail solutions. Data Science team members are tasked with turning both small, sparse and massive data into actionable insights with measurable improvements to the customer bottom line. They use rigorous analysis and repeatable processes to implement both black box and interpretable models.Our machine learning platform ingests data in real time, processes information from millions of retail items to serve deep learning models, and produces billions of predictions on a daily basis.What you'll do:Design, architect, implement and help operate the Machine Learning platform byDevelop and gain insight in the application architecture.Distill an abstract architecture into concrete design and influence the implementation.Observing inefficiencies, both in cost and reliability, of existing processesResearching alternative solutions using custom or existing open-source technologiesDesigning replacement processes and componentsImplementing processes, extending and configuring open-source componentsWork with the ML DevOps and Support teams to operate the ML platform byHelping implement DevOps best practices of in-house and open-source componentsEnsuring smooth operation via monitoring and alerting facilitiesWork with the ML data scientists toApply the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems for both model building and serving.Our current technical environment:Software: Python 3.*Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, Reactive, event-driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architectureCloud: Google CloudFrameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Big Query, Apache Beam, DataFlow, KubeFlow, Keras, TensorFlow, Flask.What we are looking for: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science is required, Masters is preferred8+ years of software engineering experience building production softwareGood working knowledge of Kubernetes and other virtualized execution technologies2+ years of experience working on at least one cloud environment, GCP preferred3+ years of Python programming experience with excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Design & Patterns2+ years of experience in building REST APIs2+ Working Experience on Kafka and its integration with Cloud Services.Our ValuesIf you want to know the heart of a company, take a look at their values.
