Lead Software Engineer (Java)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven Lead Software Engineer (Java) to join our ECOR/ESUB team in Belgrade. We foster communities of practice and offer opportunities to engage in multi-discipline groups looking at how we do software development as well as building specific products and we are always happy to learn new things and share experience.   We would love to speak with you if you are proficient in Java (Spring). About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments  At least 6 years of experience developing web applications following industry best practices, including 5 years of hands-on experience with Java, primarily using Spring and Spring BootMinimum 3 years of experience working with relational databases, preferably Oracle or PostgreSQLBachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experienceProficiency in English It would be great if you also had . . .  Good understanding of basic concepts in Machine Learning and experience with its usageGood understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with React or other popular JavaScript frameworksEagerness to develop skills in the fields of architectural patterns and clean code Agile mindset and the ability to work in a team  What will you be doing in this role? Define architecture, plan, develop and implement quality software solutions that effectively satisfy business functional and non-functional requirementsAdhere and contribute to the Clarivate coding standards for excellence and industry best practices regarding the development processes. Review other code to ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable codeWork closely with the team and share responsibility for keeping time-commitmentsAutomate tests and unit test all assigned applications.Write application technical documentationMaintain an understanding of software development lifecycle and delivery methodologyActively participate in group improvement activities and initiatives to improve processes and product quality Continuously lead the improvement and innovation Product you will be developing  IPG applications are designed to securely manage and support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making across the entire IP lifecycle. This drives IP awareness, improves planning and efficiency, and helps to increase market competitiveness across the globe. Clarivate’s ESubmission and ECorrespondence (eSub and eCor) are regulatory workflow solutions designed to support life sciences companies in managing interactions with health authorities. About the teamThe ECOR/ESUB team is building various central services, which can be used amongst all the IPMS products. The development team consists of 2 Scrum Teams with people located mainly in Graz (Austria) and Belgrade.
