We are seeking a Staff Quality Engineer owning and delivering quality for large, complex financial trading systems. This role will be part of our Platform Services team. Location: This role requires 2-3 days a week in office in San Francisco, CA. Responsibilities Build comprehensive, bottom-up test strategies for the Platform Services organization Write test plans covering various customer use cases, including functional, compliance, and legal aspects Engage in projects from the initiation phase to identify requirement gaps and design failure modes Act as a force multiplier to help developers shift testing left Automate tests based on priority and business value Help adopt best practices to improve code quality Collaborate with product, design, information security, and business teams to quickly grasp domain knowledge Develop concise, clear, and detailed documentation Participate in scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical test design, and gap analysis Provide technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues, including determining workarounds or escalating to service owners Identify defect trends and partner with development teams to address root causes Leverage AI technologies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of testing Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 8–12 years of software testing experience Experience in fintech, trading, or financial services Experience leading quality efforts for internet applications Expertise in test automation (UI, API, or other layers) Experience enhancing test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, K6, etc. Qualifications Experience in end-to-end (E2E) automation, contract testing, API automation, and load/performance testing Experience with CI/CD pipelines Experience mentoring other quality engineers Proven track record of teamwork and delivery Experience at high-growth, venture-backed startups Experience with TypeScript and Node.js (strong plus) For residents of the San Francisco, CA area, the annual salary range for this role is $169,000 - $200,000 + annual bonus.
