Join the team and create the future of customer experience together.Senior Network EngineerRole SummaryAs a Senior Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and operate a large-scale Cisco-based global enterprise network across campus, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud environments. You’ll lead complex initiatives, ensure production stability, and drive continuous improvement aligned with global architecture standards.This senior-level role requires strong technical depth, sound judgment, and operational ownership. You will mentor engineers, collaborate cross-functionally, and partner with Staff/Principal engineers to evolve the network.This role is remote within the UK and supports a globally distributed environment. Strong professional English is required for daily collaboration across North America, EMEA, and APAC.Key ResponsibilitiesWAN, Routing, Switching & WirelessDesign and operate Cisco SD-WAN architectures (control/data/management planes)Implement segmentation (VPNs/VRFs), application-aware routing, and DIA strategiesLead WAN-to-SD-WAN migrationsDesign, implement, and troubleshoot:BGP (eBGP/iBGP): redistribution, filtering, route-maps, path selectionOSPF: multi-area, summarization, LSA optimizationEIGRP (legacy environments)Implement high availability: HSRP/VRRP, ECMP, IP SLA, WAN failoverDesign and operate Cisco Catalyst 9800 WLCsOptimize RF, RRM, and roaming performance; troubleshoot high-density environmentsImplement secure wireless (ISE, 802.1X) and support site surveysCampus & SwitchingDesign and operate Cisco Catalyst 9000 (9300/9400/9500)Implement L2/L3 features: VLAN/SVI, LACP, Rapid-PVST/MST, storm controlPerform deep packet-path analysis across network layersAutomation, Observability & Cloud (AWS)Develop automation using Ansible and/or PythonIntegrate with Cisco APIs (RESTCONF, NETCONF, SD-WAN APIs)Use Catalyst Center (DNAC) for provisioning and assuranceLeverage telemetry (NetFlow, SNMP, streaming) for visibilityPartner with Cloud Engineering on hybrid AWS connectivityDesign HA routing between on-prem, SD-WAN, and AWS (BGP, failover)Support WAN transformation and cloud integration initiativesCorrelate data across platforms to identify systemic issuesUse SD-WAN, Catalyst Center, and firewall analytics for proactive monitoringValidate AI-driven insights using packet-level analysisReduce MTTD/MTTR via telemetry and intelligent monitoringDrive adoption of AIOps and improve alerting/observability standardsAutomate repetitive operational tasks aligned with DevOps workflowsSecurity, Identity & AccessOperate Cisco Firepower NGFW (FMC-managed)Troubleshoot ACLs, NAT, IPS, VPNs, and HA configurationsAnalyze packet captures for routing/policy issuesDesign and support 802.1X (wired/wireless) with Cisco ISE:Policy sets, profiling, TACACS+, dynamic VLANsPartner with Security teams on Zero Trust enforcementCollaboration & OperationsWork across global teams and time zonesParticipate in design, incident, and operational reviewsMaintain accurate documentationParticipate in on-call rotationsDemonstrate ownership, accountability, and continuous learningRequired Qualifications6–8 years enterprise network engineering experienceCCNP certification (required)Advanced Cisco networking expertiseStrong BGP and OSPF design/troubleshooting skillsProven Cisco SD-WAN experienceHands-on with:Cisco Catalyst 9000Cisco Catalyst 9800 WLCCisco Firepower NGFWCisco ISE (802.1X)High-availability network design experienceExperience with AWS and/or Azure connectivityStrong production troubleshooting skillsAutomation experience (Ansible or Python required)Experience in global/multi-region environmentsProfessional English proficiencyITIL (Incident & Change Management) experienceServiceNow experiencePreferred Qualifications & CompetenciesCCNP Enterprise Automation (ENAUTO 300-425)Experience in 24/7 global support environmentsStrong problem-solving and ownership mindsetClear written and verbal communicationOpenness to feedback and continuous improvementIf a Genesys employee referred you, please use the link they sent you to apply.About Genesys:Genesys® empowers more than 8,000 organizations worldwide to create the best customer and employee experiences.
