This role specifically is full-time and based on-site at our New York showroom in SoHo. The schedule is flexible based on business needs and requires evenings, weekends, and some holidays. This role requires a 4-week training period in June at our Beverly Hills showroom . What the Role Is Babylist is looking for a seasoned Showroom Manager to manage our brand new, New York showroom! Whether you're an expecting parent, a grandparent, or a friend to someone having a baby, this is going to be one of the most fun places to be. Located in the heart of SoHo, this unique showroom experience will welcome guests to walk room-by-room to see, touch, and test our vast array of products for life with a baby. This is a fun and immersive opportunity for our users to add products to their registry or stop by our retail shop to pick up curated gifts. As Showroom Manager, you will have the unique and exciting opportunity to bring our strategic vision to life by balancing the onsite operations and communication back to the broader Babylist team. In addition to leading the day-to-day operations, this person will offer critical feedback and learnings to our leadership team on what’s working, where we can elevate, and what customers are saying. Most importantly, they will help create an experience that brings our brand to life and delights users. This role is hands-on and highly visible. If you’re most comfortable operating within established retail playbooks or environments where direction is set centrally and execution is the primary focus, this will be a tough fit. This role requires someone who can build and adapt in real time—balancing operational excellence with a constant eye toward improving the customer experience. Who You Are 5–7+ years managing retail or experiential spaces , including ownership of staffing, inventory, and in-store operations Experience opening a new store or launching a physical retail experience for a digitally native brand Proven track record building and scaling teams , including hiring, training, and developing frontline managers and associates Strong operational instincts , with experience managing labor planning, payroll, and store-level P&L inputs Hands-on experience with POS and inventory management systems (e.g., Shopify POS, Lightspeed, or similar), able to troubleshoot and operate independently Experience hosting high-touch in-store experiences , including events or walkthroughs for customers, partners, or press Comfort operating without a fixed playbook , able to prioritize, make decisions quickly, and adjust based on real-time feedback Able to translate customer behavior into actionable insights , improving layout, flow, merchandising, and service experience You're genuinely excited about what AI can do —even in physical retail—and are open to using it to improve operations, insights, and team effectiveness How You Will Make An Impact Launch and operate the New York showroom, ensuring a high-quality, consistent experience across all in-store interactions Build, train, and lead a team of Registry Specialists, Shift Leads, and Brand Ambassadors who deliver a service-first experience Translate company goals into store-level metrics, adjusting staffing, workflows, and processes to meet performance targets Act as the voice of the showroom, sharing real-time insights on customer behavior, product feedback, and experience gaps Partner with cross-functional teams to test and implement new in-store experiences that drive engagement and brand affinity Manage operating costs including payroll and expenses, ensuring efficient and sustainable store performance Maintain high standards for visual merchandising, product presentation, and overall showroom environment Identify and remove friction points in the customer journey, improving how guests navigate, explore, and convert in the space Own day-to-day operations including vendor coordination, facilities management, and issue resolution to keep the showroom running smoothly About Compensation We use a market-based approach to compensation. The starting salary range for this role is: $125,500 to $135,900 Your starting salary will be based on your location, experience, and qualifications, with increases over time tied to performance, role growth, and internal pay equity.
