This role specifically is full-time and based on-site at our New York showroom in SoHo. The schedule is flexible based on business needs and requires evenings, weekends, and some holidays. This role requires a  4-week training period in June at our Beverly Hills showroom . What the Role Is Babylist is seeking an Assistant Showroom Manager to help lead our New York showroom in SoHo. This space brings our brand to life in person—where expecting parents and their communities can explore products, build registries, and experience Babylist firsthand. You’ll play a key role in delivering a thoughtful, high-touch experience for every guest who walks through the door. Day to day, you’ll operate as a core leader on the floor—running shifts, guiding the team, and ensuring everything from staffing to merchandising to guest flow is dialed. You’ll spend most of your time on the floor: coaching in real time, jumping into customer interactions, and making sure the experience feels seamless. When the Showroom Manager is out, you’ll step in to lead the space and keep operations running smoothly. This role is highly hands-on and floor-driven. If you prefer back-of-house roles or environments where leadership happens mostly off the floor, this will be a tough fit. Success in this role comes from being present, engaged, and leading from the front—every shift. Who You Are 4+ years of retail leadership experience , including hiring, scheduling, and training frontline teams Experience acting as manager-on-duty or second-in-command , comfortable stepping in to run the showroom and make decisions in real time Proven ability to coach and develop retail teams , improving performance through in-the-moment feedback Strong operational instincts , including managing staffing coverage, inventory awareness, and daily execution Hands-on experience with POS and inventory systems (e.g., Shopify POS, Lightspeed, or similar), able to operate independently Experience maintaining visual merchandising standards in a dynamic retail or experiential environment Comfortable working a flexible schedule , including weekends and peak retail hours Able to stand for 8–10 hour shifts and lift up to 30 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation You're genuinely excited about what AI can do —even in retail environments—and are open to using it to improve team operations and the guest experience How You Will Make An Impact Run the showroom floor day-to-day, ensuring a high-quality, consistent experience for every guest Act as manager-on-duty when needed, owning operations and decision-making in the absence of the Showroom Manager Coach and support showroom staff in real time, improving service quality and team performance shift by shift Guide guests through the showroom experience, answering questions and helping them make confident product decisions Execute staffing plans, zone coverage, and shift assignments to ensure strong floor coverage at all times Maintain visual merchandising and product presentation standards across all areas of the showroom Support hiring, onboarding, and training of Brand Ambassadors and Shift Leads Partner on in-store events, activations, and VIP experiences that bring the Babylist brand to life About Compensation We use a market-based approach to compensation. The starting salary range for this role is: $90,200 to $97,600 Your starting salary will be based on your location, experience, and qualifications, with increases over time tied to performance, role growth, and internal pay equity.
