Alamar Biosciences is seeking a Senior Scientist, Technology Development to innovate technologies and products based on our proprietary NULISA™ platform, which enables highly sensitive, quantitative, and multiplexed biomarker measurements using qPCR and/or NGS readouts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assay development, immunoassays, molecular biology, biochemistry, and data analysis, along with a passion for translating novel technologies into robust products. This role will involve close collaboration with product development, bioinformatics, manufacturing, and software teams. The fast-paced nature of this position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, the ability to multitask and work independently, and flexibility with evolving priorities and schedules. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Fremont. Essential Responsibilities: Lead development of novel multiplex immunoassays utilizing Alamar’s proprietary NULISA technology Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments to optimize assay performance Perform rigorous data analysis and interpretation to guide technology and assay development decisions Identify key variables impacting assay sensitivity, specificity, robustness, and reproducibility, and drive systematic optimization Participate and present data in technical discussions and project meetings. Collaborate closely with bioinformatics, product development, manufacturing, engineering, and software teams to enable end-to-end workflow integration Support assay transfer, automation, and system-level integration onto Alamar’s proprietary instrument platform Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior scientists and contribute to team-level scientific excellence Contribute to building and maintaining a strong, collaborative team culture Minimum Qualifications PhD with 5+ years of experience in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related field Demonstrated experience in single-plex and multiplex immunoassay development Hands-on experience with reagent optimization for immunoassays and qPCR/NGS Experience with qPCR /NGS assay optimization Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including team members and cross functional teams Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and balance laboratory and cross-functional needs Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality Consistent, positive, and can-do attitude Preferred Qualifications Preferably PhD with 5+ years of industry experience, MS with 8+ years of industry experience or BS with 10+ years of industry experience. Experience with immunoassay technologies such as NULISA, SIMOA, PEA, or similar technologies Experience with optimizing multi-color qPCR or NGS assays Experience with calibration curve–based sample quantification Prior experience leading or managing direct reports, including mentoring junior scientists or associates Familiarity with data and record management platforms such as Benchling or SciNote Experience with reagent and inventory management Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences The base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 - $165,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
