Our Ways of Working
Our Fulfillment Center team works on-site in Commercial Point, OH to support our physical operations and plays a vital role in delivering the Babylist experience. This role operates on the Day Shift - Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm
What the Role Is
Our Commercial Point Fulfillment Center is how Babylist gets the right products to growing families at the moments that matter most. As the Fulfillment Planning Supervisor, you sit at the intersection of labor planning, data, and frontline operations — reporting to the General Manager and leading the Wave Planning team. You own how work flows through the building: connecting volume, labor, and execution so the right work gets released at the right time with the right staffing to hit throughput and service targets across all three shifts.
Day to day, you’re living in the WMS and planning tools, translating inbound volume, backlog, and business inputs into executable wave plans and labor allocations across days, nights, and weekends. Some days are deeply analytical: building labor models, refining forecasts, standing up reporting that gives operations leaders clear visibility into cost, efficiency, and performance. Others are fast and reactive: rebalancing labor mid-shift, adjusting waves on the fly, making real-time calls that directly impact output.
This role exists because our FC is entering its next phase of growth. Labor planning today varies by shift, and that inconsistency costs us. You’ll be the single point of ownership that makes planning consistent, data-driven, and scalable — and you’ll play a key role in building the foundation for future automation and systems improvements.
This is not a passive planning role. If you prefer static plans, clean inputs, or clearly defined playbooks, this will be a tough fit. The reality is constant tradeoffs — volume vs. labor, speed vs. accuracy, short-term fixes vs. long-term improvements. You need to be comfortable making decisions with imperfect data and holding your ground with operations leaders when the plan needs to change.
Who You Are
3+ years in a fulfillment center, distribution, or manufacturing environment with direct ownership of labor planning, production control, or workflow execution at high volume (50k+ units/day or similar)
1+ year managing hourly associates in a warehouse or DC, including performance management and shift execution
Hands-on experience building and adjusting labor plans across multiple workstreams (pick, pack, replenish, receiving) in a WMS-driven operation
Strong in Excel — pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling — and comfortable translating data into clear direction that operations teams can act on
Experience working directly in a WMS (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or similar), including releasing work, managing waves, and troubleshooting in real time
You thrive in fast-moving, high-ambiguity environments where plans change daily and you adapt without waiting for direction
Bonus points i f you’ve worked in a dedicated Workforce Management or Resource Planning function, supported WMS implementations or system-driven workflow changes, or used tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Sigma for labor modeling and forecasting beyond Excel
You’re genuinely excited about what AI can do — not just as a concept, but as something you want to get your hands on. At Babylist, every team uses AI daily, and we’re looking for people who lean in
How You Will Make An Impact
Own daily and weekly labor planning across all shifts (days, nights, weekends), translating forecast inputs — volume, seasonality, site constraints — into executable staffing plans
Lead wave planning and execution for Day Shift, releasing work in alignment with labor capacity, priorities, and downstream constraints
Adjust plans in real time: rebalance labor, reprioritize work, and make the call when volume changes, staffing gaps, or operational issues hit mid-shift
Lead and develop a team of Wave Planners — set expectations, coach performance, and drive consistent execution of planning standards
Play a key role in evolving the Wave Planner function from a task-based role into a more advanced, systems-savvy capability that can operate as true planning partners to operations
Build and maintain reporting, models, and dashboards that give operations leaders clear visibility into labor cost, efficiency, and productivity — and translate complex data into actionable insights that inform staffing decisions and operational strategy
Partner with Operations Managers on daily execution strategy, push back when plans aren’t feasible, and drive accountability to the plan
Work cross-functionally with Inventory Control, Data, Finance, and Product/Tech teams to resolve constraints, improve wave logic, and support WMS enhancements
Standardize planning processes and cadences so labor allocation and wave execution are consistent across shifts — not dependent on who’s on the floor
Physical Requirements
While this role involves leadership and oversight responsibilities, it also requires regular physical presence and activity on the fulfillment floor. Physical expectations include:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10–12 hours per shift) with scheduled breaks
Ability to walk the floor extensively, averaging 10,000+ steps per day
Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the shift
Comfort with pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and performing repetitive motions as needed to support team operations
About Compensation
We use a market-based approach to compensation. The starting salary range for this role is:
$65,800 to $80,000
Your starting salary will be based on your location, experience, and qualifications, with increases over time tied to performance, role growth, and internal pay equity.
