Our platforms support highly reliable, large-scale systems used by global organizations every day.We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated QA / Automation Engineer to join our Workload Automation team, supporting the CA 7 Workload Automation product. CA 7 Workload Automation is a highly scalable, fully integrated workload automation solution that allows you to define and execute workloads and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) across the enterprise. Through a single point of control, CA 7 Workload Automation enables you to distribute or centralize job submissions according to business relevance, helping your team efficiently manage the performance and availability of cross-platform and ERP applications.CA 7 Workload Automation is evolving to support modern mainframe DevOps practices through deeper CI/CD integration, enhanced APIs, and improved developer experience. The product is also investing in intelligent analysis, expanded automation capabilities, and tighter integration with the broader Workload Automation ecosystem to enable more proactive, shift-left validation and faster feedback loopsThis role focuses on building and enhancing automation frameworks, ensuring high product quality, and driving continuous improvement in testing practices.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong automation expertise who has experience in mainframe environments or is eager to learn and grow in this space.What You’ll DoQuality Assurance & AutomationDesign, develop, and enhance automation frameworks for the CA 7 Workload Automation productBuild programs, utilities, scripts, and CI/CD pipelines to support:Integration, System, Performance, Security, and Compatibility testingDefine and implement automated test coverage strategies and metricsMaintain and optimize regression test suites for stability and effectivenessAnalyze test results, reduce false positives, and improve test reliabilityExecute targeted manual and exploratory testing for critical and high-risk areasPrepare complex test data and ensure alignment with comprehensive test matricesIdentify, assess, and mitigate potential security risks within testing processes and toolsHow You’ll WorkParticipate actively in Agile and DevOps workflowsContribute to test planning, estimation, and risk assessmentHelp define and evolve test frameworks, tools, and best practicesSupport continuous testing and CI/CD pipeline improvementsCollaborate closely with development, QA, and product teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor's: 8+ years; Master's: 6+ years; PhD: 3+ years Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in QA and test automationMainframe (z/OS) experienceStrong understanding of testing methodologies and best practicesHands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, or PyTestProficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or similar)Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with mainframe technologies (z/OS)Programming experience in HLASM, REXX, or Metal C, AnsibleFamiliarity with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI)Experience with performance, load, and scalability testing for enterprise systemsKnowledge of BDD, TDD, and modern QA practicesRelevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, SAFe)Additional InformationLocation: Plano, TXBusiness travel: No (or minimal) business travel is expected for this position.Typical experience: 8+ years in QA, automation, or related fieldsAdditional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $172,800 This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
