Back to jobs New Director, Scripted Originals Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid) Apply About the Role: As Director, Scripted Originals you will be a key member on the Content team.  Your primary responsibility is to execute on scripted original content within Tubi, overseeing all aspects of projects under your supervision. Duties will include slate management, maintaining important relationships with content partners and talent, content development/production/post production, working closely with negotiators and business affairs on deals, coordination with Marketing/PR and overseeing a team. This is a hybrid role based out of our Los Angeles office.  What You'll Do: Content Development & Production Deliver a steady volume of original feature movies and animated content, managing a slate of projects from development through delivery Proactively source, identify, and evaluate IP and original story opportunities for development Develop concepts from assigned production companies within your pod, including selection of writers, treatments, and screenplays for Tubi Original scripted content Initiate and maintain relationships with filmmakers and talent at all levels Collaborate with cross-functional teams on greenlight analysis and deal negotiations Creative Oversight Oversee all creative elements including script, cast, director, writer, and producer selections Manage all aspects of pre-production, including production methodology, locations, wardrobe, casting, and approval of director, cinematographer, and other key roles Oversee physical production with focus on quality control and financial overages Oversee post-production through to full asset delivery Seek out creative comments and secure senior management approvals as required Timeline & Delivery Management Ensure Tubi meets all deadlines agreed upon with production companies, including: Script notes and revisions Prep (cast, director, writer, producer selections) Principal photography Post-production elements (Producer's Cut and Final Cut notes, VFX, music, QC) Delivery of marketing/promotional materials (EPKs, talent advertising restrictions, artwork, trailers, clips) Cross-Functional Partnership Partner closely with Production team on budgets, timelines, deliveries, and production methodologies Work closely with Finance teams on content spend Serve as primary point person between Tubi and Marketing/PR on campaigns supporting Tubi Originals within this pod Serve as primary point person between Tubi and Sales on product placement opportunities within Tubi Originals Collaborate with all Tubi Originals pods to share data, information, talent relationships, and opportunities Implement Content Intelligence into decision-making, including content performance data from Content Programming & Insights team Partner across Content team leads to enhance content strategy Team Leadership Supervise and manage direct reports, which may include creative executives and coordinators Focus team efforts to maximize work product while managing career development Oversee flow of information between your team and internal teams, socializing content initiatives, opportunities, and key dates External Representation Represent Tubi at conferences and press opportunities as a key leader on the Content team, as required Assess content opportunities for senior management, as required Your Background: At least 7 years of prior experience as a creative executive and/or development and production experience at a leading entertainment or technology company Significant relationships with talent, with the ability to bring new and emerging talent to the platform Demonstrated ability to oversee all phases of production A deep understanding of how to develop and produce content that creatively resonates with viewers based on data and insights Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and produce content across all budget levels Excellent relationship-building skills Encyclopedic knowledge and love of movies and television shows - this is fun! Strong financial management skills, including the ability to analyze production budgets, maintain disciplined spend, and analyze the cost/benefit of overages/breakage Established high-level relationships throughout the entertainment industry, specifically with production entities at studios and TV networks, as well as independent producers Willingness to travel as needed to production shoots that could be anywhere globally BA or BS degree required #LI-CN1 #LI-Hybrid  Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is is listed annually below. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, long-term incentive plan, and various benefits including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
