System Engineer Internship Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)Term: May 18, 2026- August 14, 2026Position SummaryPlug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated student to join our team. The student will be responsible for assisting in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of your academic studies and interests. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain recordkeeping requirements and documentation controls to ensure compliance with functional safety standards and audit readiness.Support the development and documentation of safety lifecycle activities in accordance with IEC 61511, including hazard analysis, safety requirement definition, and verification tracking.Assist engineers with validation, testing, and safety case documentation to ensure design compliance and traceability across functional safety deliverables.Gain a foundational understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in manufacturing and technology.Communication and CollaborationDevelop effective communication skills by collaborating with team members and presenting findings to different stakeholders.Education and QualificationPursuing a Bachelor of Science, Master's or PhD degree with majors including chemical mechanical or industrialMust have reliable transportation to the officeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPossess solid hands-on approach to problem-solvingDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedEstimated Base Salary Range:$21.00 - $25.00
