Major Capital Equipment Procurement leads the team responsible for managing procurement, execution and capacity delivery of multiple and complex categories for Major Capital Equipment (MCE), with cross-functional and regionally diverse scope.The incumbent will also be required to support both regional and global category management and procurement functions. ResponsibilitiesBusiness PartneringEngages and collaborates with cross-functional business teams for regional procurement by integrating plans and communicating risk & status clearly and crisply to management, calling out key issues, presenting risk mitigation options and recommendations to leadershipServes an escalation point to resolve stakeholder issues within the regional teamUnderstands stakeholder needs and builds effective relationships.Demonstrates influencing skills to achieve solutions and dealing with challenging stakeholder situationsLiase across internal and external teams to ensure On Time Delivery of MCE products and servicesContinuous focus on improving product cost, manufacturability, delivered quality and performance goalsResource ManagementWill provide management updates on supplier performance and team productivityIs an escalation point for the team for solving resource/budgetary issuesProvides management and leadership across the team to ensure the team's growth is in alignment with business needsSets goals for immediate team membersNegotiationsPartners intra-regionally with business leaders, and other key stakeholders to execute capital purchases that deliver cost savings, reduce supplier lead times, and improve vendor performanceSupports appropriate supply agreements are in place and guides internal teams how to monitor adherence to the terms of the agreementDirectly engages suppliers at the appropriate levels to influence the best outcome for Equinix that exceeds the business requirements Procurement StrategyUtilizes a global perspective in the execution of procurement strategy within the regionDevelops a vendor management strategy to “right size” the supply strategy for the regionDevelops, communicates, and executes against global procurement strategies and best practices for the regionEstablishes and delivers procurement goals, metrics, and work plans to meet operational objectivesContributes for spend category management strategies and action plansMonitors and maintains full industry and market knowledge of equipment, suppliers, best practices, competitive landscape, etc.Communicate and collaborate with all key stakeholders to ensure alignment of the overall strategyCommunicate and implement strategy effectively throughout the relevant regional procurement teamsLead the regional procurement teams to implement procurement strategy effectively throughout region across the relevant categoriesCost SavingsDrives and delivers cost savings opportunities aligned with organizational commitmentsDevelops cost savings proposals and interacts closely with suppliers, and internal customers, to achieve the cost savingsCreates and maintains cost forecasts (reduction or increase) and cost-tracking for the regionSupplier ManagementHas an in-depth technical knowledge of all Equinix products/processesBuilds and maintains supplier relationships and drives improvement in the areas of cost, risk, and qualityPartner with Category Management team to identify and mitigate supplier risks in the areas of financial, capacity, location, single sole source, spend, and revenue, etc.Identifies and resolves various supplier management problemsSupports selection of new suppliersResource Management (people, finances etc.)Ensures KPI's are in place for the team which are appropriate for the needs of the function and its stakeholdersAccountable for resource planning (people, finances etc.) across the teamEffectively communicates project management methodology and its application to customer solutionsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience15 years of relevant experience in procurement program management, supply chain management, category management or consulting Electrical and/or Mechanical Industrial EquipmentStrong skills in negotiation and influenceGoal and team-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn & improveFlexibility and fast adaptation to changing environmentPreferred qualificationsMaster’s degree in a technical or engineering field or MBADemonstrated experience with large-scale industrial engineering and construction programs, preferably data centersThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 136,000 - 204,000 USD / Annual Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
