You’ll find belonging, purpose, and a team that welcomes you—because when you feel valued, you’re empowered to do your best work.Job SummaryAt Equinix our Critical Facilities Engineers operate, manage, maintain and repair critical and non-critical Power systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire control and suppression, and all site services, and perform related vendor support in a mission critical environment.  South Sydney Campus consists of 5 data centers within proximity of each other across Mascot and Alexandria, and we are looking to add more electrical capability to the campus, although our engineers work collaboratively across all engineering disciplines.The position will be for an Electrical Trade or Degree qualified candidate with exposure to electrical systems ideally in maintenance and service work and will require working across separate sites to ensure adequate coverage. This role will suit someone who is quick to adapt to new environments, learns our critical infrastructure across multiple sites, support senior engineers and develop into more senior roles and complex tasks over time.Electrical biased candidates with a strong foundation and understanding of mission critical environments, as well as some understanding of mechanical and controls systems will be highly regarded. We will be looking to interview immediately for the role with a planned start flexible for the successful candidate in either December or January.ResponsibilitiesFacility / Infrastructure MaintenancePerforms specialized preventative and corrective maintenance on-site to critical facility components and/or systemsPerforms moderately difficult repairs, maintenance, installations and on-site inspections to critical facility systemsMonitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves alarms for specialized issues requiring considerable judgement and implications to resolve; follows guidelines on standard procedures and makes recommendations for solutioningOperates and maintains plumbing, fire suppression, and life-safety systemsImplements energy efficiency measuresAssists more senior team members on coordinating complex critical infrastructuresWorks on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
