Staff Accountant  SmartBear is seeking a versatile and growth-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting function. As a member of the Corporate Reporting team, this role will have a focus on managing our accounts payable (AP) process in the US including implementation of new automation solutions. The role will also be responsible for general ledger accounting responsibilities such as accrued expenses and expense allocations and for aspects of treasury management. This is a unique opportunity for an accountant with strong operational fundamentals and an interest in expanding their general ledger and project-based skillset, while working cross-functionally with teams across SmartBear including Sales, Product, Marketing, IT and FP&A. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Management Manage full cycle US payables process from inbox management to invoice entry to PO match to payment proposal Implement AP automation solution globally to reduce manual steps and errors Prepare AP reporting used in weekly cash forecast projections and provide feedback on timing of AP cash flows Prepare daily cash reporting supporting the cash management cycle Manage vendor information in NetSuite in support of the annual 1099 filing process Support the company Purchase Order process in collaboration with FP&A and the Purchasing Manager General Ledger Accounting Prepare and record monthly accrued expense entries based on outstanding and expected AP activity Manage prepaid expenses Generate ADP payroll reporting and record payroll entries for US-based payroll Analyze, code and record monthly credit card program transaction activity Record allocations of operating expenses in collaboration with FP&A Prepare monthly account reconciliations Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Support Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Sales, Product, Security, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Success. Coordinate with international accounting teams on cash management, automation initiatives, and operational alignment Contribute to internal documentation, the annual audit process, and support M&A integration activity Qualifications Required Associate’s degree in accounting or a related business field 3+ years of relevant accounts payable experience, including: Full cycle invoice entry to payment management Automation implementation and management Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related business field Experience with SmartBear’s key accounting tech stack including NetSuite, Blackline, Zone & Co, Concur, and other common accounting SaaS platforms Working knowledge of US GAAP Why you should join the SmartBear crew:    You can grow your career at every level.    We invest in your success as well as the spaces where our teams come together to work, collaborate, and have fun.   We love celebrating our SmartBears; we even encourage our crew to take their birthdays off.   We are guided by a People and Culture organization - an important distinction for us.
