This role blends creativity, instructional design, and technical understanding to translate complex data center operations into intuitive, interactive training. The LXD partners with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to design scalable learning solutions that drive behavior change, support business goals, and advance the mission of building the best data center workforce on Earth.ResponsibilitiesDesign and Develop Learning Experiences – Create impactful, experiential learning solutions that align with adult learning best practices and address performance needs identified through job and task analysesTranslate Complexity into Clarity – Transform sophisticated technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging multimedia experiences for diverse audiencesCollaborate with SMEs and Stakeholders – Partner closely with internal subject matter experts, project managers, and global teams to ensure content accuracy, scalability, and alignment with operational standardsLeverage Modern Learning Technologies – Design interactive courseware, video, and extended-reality (AR/VR) learning experiences that engage international audiencesBuild with Excellence – Apply authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, and other industry platforms) to create interactive, accessible, and technically functional eLearningDevelop Assessments and Job Aids – Create instructionally sound assessments that measure knowledge, skill, and on-the-job performance outcomesContinuously Improve Learning Programs – Use learner feedback, analytics, and research in adult education to refine and modernize existing programsDeliver Projects on Time – Manage multiple development efforts in an agile environment, communicate proactively, and adapt timelines when requiredChampion the Brand and Mission – Ensure all content follows Equinix branding and quality standards while contributing ideas that shape the future of our global training strategyFoster a Culture of Innovation and Learning – Share best practices, experiment with new learning modalities, and help strengthen a team culture grounded in creativity, accountability, and collaborationQualifications5+ years of progressive experience in instructional design, learning experience design, technical training, or technical writing, preferably in technology or engineering environmentsProven success designing and developing learning across multiple delivery modes: eLearning, mobile, video, gamified modules, virtual learning, and live simulationDemonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, agile, project-driven environment and apply strong design sensibility across all deliverablesStrong analytical and creative problem-solving skills; able to balance learner needs, business priorities, and design excellenceAdvanced experience with Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Captivate, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and comparable authoring and multimedia toolsStrong visual and storytelling acumen; ability to design illustrations, animations, and UI/UX elements for technical audiencesFamiliarity with learning experience design principles, design thinking, and agile development methodologies (ADDIE, SAM)Experience working on cross-functional teams and managing vendor or translation workflows for multi-language course developmentExceptional attention to detail in grammar, style, and overall instructional qualityExperience defining and tracking learning metrics, QA, and content performance indicatorsBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field required; Master’s degree preferredIdeal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver who thrives at the intersection of technology, design, and learning. You are energized by collaboration, comfortable with ambiguity, and passionate about delivering learning experiences that make a measurable difference.The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 80,000 - 120,000 USD / Annual Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 81,000 - 121,000 CAD / Annual Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
