As a member of a rapidly evolving engineering organization, the Senior Machine Learning Engineer will need to be able to cross functions easily and collaborate with other highly effective individuals, including members of the C-suite. This is a challenging engineering role that offers a great opportunity to grow with Aetion and make a difference by ​​helping expand the use of Aetion's products. RESPONSIBILITIES:  Use a variety of machine learning methods to solve healthcare-related problems using cloud-based technologies. Transform innovative AI prototypes into production-ready solutions through rigorous engineering practices. Work cross functionally with engineers to integrate AI/ML features into our applications. Work alongside science and product to identify and solve high-value machine learning use-cases. Maintain and monitor existing AI/ML functionality. Research topics in machine learning and AI to stay up-to-date on emerging trends in the field. QUALIFICATIONS:  Required A BSc/MSc/PhD degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, data science, computer science, statistics, electrical engineering, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering or a related STEM field. 6+ years of relevant work experience. Expert in Python programming for full data science lifecycle (ETL, data exploration, cleaning/pre-processing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring). Tech stack: SQL, Scikit-learn, Numpy, Pandas, Pytorch, Transformers.  Experience with LLMs: prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning.  Highly analytical, problem-solving mindset with a demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and independently solving ill-defined problems on data from heterogeneous sources. Interested in partnering with product teams to solve complex business problems with AI/ML. Strong communication skills, in fluent English, with ability to explain complex concepts to a variety of audiences. Experience with version control software (e.g., Git) Experience working with containerized compute (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) Preferred Experience in the healthcare industry or experience working with large, complex medical / healthcare data (e.g., insurance claims, EHR, CDISC).
