We work closely with partners and content creators to design transformational learning experiences, using research, experimentation, and data insights to improve learner satisfaction, engagement, and outcomes.   About the Role: The Senior Principle Learning Design Consultant is a full-time, U.S.-based remote role focused on enabling partner success and driving revenue growth for Coursera’s strategic accounts. You will play a critical role in shaping high-impact, skill-aligned learning programs that meet learner needs and respond to market demand. Coursera is looking for a highly skilled and innovative Learning Designer to join our team at an IC6 level. This person will collaborate closely with our analytics team, external partners, and teams working to meld AI into education products. The selected candidate will provide learning design guidance and bring expertise in Python, statistics, psychometrics, and adaptive learning to the group. Additionally, this professional will be responsible for managing and updating our forthcoming achievement architecture, ensuring that credentials are issued upon successful completion of skills-based learning assignments. This individual will also collaborate with a key strategic account to develop new learning products and conduct research and experiments that inform the creation and refinement of these products. Collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance. Instructional Design: Apply instructional design theories and practices to create effective online learning experiences, and develop assessments that accurately measure learner comprehension and mastery. Project Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including learning analytics and AI implementation teams, to refine course design based on data insights.Provide instructional design support to partners as needed, ensuring high-quality content.Collaborate with coders and makers to enhance and suggest improvements in code structure. AI and Advanced Learning Techniques: Integrate adaptive learning methodologies and leverage AI to personalize learning experiences, while utilizing statistics and psychometrics to validate and improve learning models. Innovation and Research: Stay informed of the latest trends and research in online learning, instructional design, AI, and adaptive learning and continuously seek opportunities to enhance the learner experience through innovative design techniques. Work with cross-functional teams on learner progress reward scaffolding. Basic Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably within an e-learning environment. Proven experience in Python coding, statistics, psychometrics, and adaptive learning. Portfolio demonstrating deep knowledge in course design, learning content creation, and AI-enhanced learning strategies. Proficiency with instructional design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia). Experience with LMS and digital learning platforms. Expertise in statistical analysis and psychometric evaluation.   Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong presentation and consultation skills with both small and large audiences. Creative, problem-solving mindset with an eye for detail and a strong analytical approach. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
