This role directs the sales of all the organization’s products or services and develops the sub-region’s long-range sales strategy and forecasts sales volumes. This role is also responsible for developing and implementing plans to meet market demands, setting budgets and objectives, and administering policies. This is a remote position to be based either in Italy or Spain (preferably Milan or Madrid), English language, in addition to either Spanish or Italian language is also essential. This role will require travel up to 50% across the sub-region and at times across Europe. Considerable, prior experience of leading a sales function is essential with skills in the Genomics sector being essential. Expertise in next generation sequencing are also highly preferred.The successful candidate must have the ability to direct and coordinate activities of multiple departments, select and develop personnel, and ensure the attainment of financial and operational goals. Position Responsibilities: Leads the cross-functional sales organisation within the Med sub-region, which includes technical sales, strategic sales, partner accounts and inside sales teamsManages primarily direct selling across the region Responsible for leveraging execution resources across commercial functions outside of sales Responsible for attainment of revenue target for the business within the geography in support of the company’s overall financial and strategic objectivesResponsible for developing short- and long-term strategic plans for advancing the company’s products and/or services to meet market demands within the geographic area of responsibility, working within the general financial plans provided by regional commercial management Within the region, directs the sales of all the organization’s products or services and develops long-range sales strategy and forecasts sales volumes Has sub-regional virtual P&L responsibilities Develop and execute growth strategy in Med, particularly, drive the growth in the clinical market and opportunities that may be unique to the geographyWork closely with global and other regional counterparts on critical strategic matters and business issues such as competitive positioning, new product launches, new product/solutions investments In partnership with regional marketing, build Illumina brand in Med, enhance collaborations and leverage value from Collaboration Centre and PartnershipsDrive accelerated and consistent revenue growth and market penetration in both life sciences and clinical market businesses.
