We are now looking for a Senior Deep Learning Engineer in Perception for Autonomous Vehicles to develop features for our next generation autonomous driving platform.Intelligent machines powered by Artificial Intelligence computers that can learn, reason, and interact with people are no longer science fiction. Today, a self-driving vehicle powered by AI can meander through roads at night and find its way.Our team is building the Perception component of NVIDIA DRIVE AV. We are seeking the best Deep Learning/Machine Learning scientists & engineers with a background in computer vision, camera perception, LiDAR perception, sensor fusion, and other related areas, who are passionate about solving problems for self-driving cars.What you’ll be doing:Team work: Foster close collaborations with our researchers and engineers, transforming brand new research into our autonomous driving platform.Exploration: Delve into 3d perception problems, e.g., 3d object detection, tracking, and occupancy prediction. Propose and implement novel and feasible solutions. Optimize the solutions towards on-vehicle deployment. Look out and keep track of the latest development and technologies in deep learning and autonomous driving. Incorporate new methods, techniques and solutions that could improve and benefit our platform.Experimentation: Design experiments on both external and internal AV datasets with rigor. Conduct experiments and analyze the results to provide insightful findings.Documentation: Thoroughly document methodologies, insights, and results to facilitate knowledge sharing, future development, and reproducibility.What we need to see:MS or PhD level education in Engineering or Computer Science with a focus on Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong social skills.2+ years of practical experience applying machine learning to address real-world problems.Strong Python programming experience with software design skills.Experience with deep neural network training, inference, and optimization in leading frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, Tensorflow, TensorRT).Practical software engineering experience, developing for large and complex systems.Excellent understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning and deep learningSelf-motivation combined with team spirit and the urge to learn new things and solve hard problems.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Applied Experience in AV: Evidence of practical experiments and projects within the autonomous driving domain. Experience of delivering features to AV stacks or related products.Advanced Model Knowledge: Experience working with Transformers and other visual recognition models, especially models for 2d/3d object detection and 3d occupancy prediction. Familiarity with bird's eye view perception solutions and techniques. Familiarity with common toolkits and libraries such as MMDetection3d.Cross-functional Collaborator: Proven experience working effectively with diverse teams, including researchers, software developers, and product managers, to translate sophisticated concepts into tangible solutions.Problem Solver: A track record of using innovative thinking and a problem-solving attitude to overcome technical challenges.Adaptable Learner: Evidence of continual learning and skill development in the constantly evolving field of machine learning and AI. This might include further education, certifications, or a consistent practice of self-learning.
