College Intern- R&D NPI engineerDescription -New Product Development & Introduction (NPDI) is an organization that develops & introduces new Print Products & Solutions within HP's Imaging & Printing business.Print portfolio include traditional home/office printing, Multi-Jet Fusion 3D printing, print solutions for packaging/textiles, and industrialization of advancing print technology applications.What a College Intern – NPI Proto Lab (IT, Control Systems) does at HP:We are looking for intern-talents who can assist our current core team of engineers who will be developing & delivering products and solutions to HP's next generation of Thermal InkJet (TIJ) Print Technology, picking up learning in the process.Interns will be assigned mentors & will undertake engineering projects that will supplement development work of the core team of engineers.These are engineering intern positions that will have tooling design, product design, process development, product quality development, writing systems, test & audit tools, reliability testing.Assist vendors setup of facility and GRE for proto setupAssist and support vendor for machinery landingAssist vendor and engineers in machinery /tooling install, assembly system debugging and commissionHands on work with suppliers to develop mechanical fixtures/jigs design, tooling modification/customization, install and testDevelop tooling modification/customization, mechanical design improvementsAssist NPI Engineers with process characterization, gage R&R and NPI experimentsAssist NPI Engineers to buyoff FAT/ SATPeriodic maintenance and calibration of online and offline tooling/gagesAudit tooling maintenance and calibrationOperate and hands on machinery for proto build runsEngage and assist NPI Engineers on experimental builds, innovate and engineer new processes, new mfg technologies etcSpare managementMaintain a master list containing OS version info, Anti virus version, IP, Backup and etc of all PCs deployed in proto environmentKnowledge on Backup and Storage systems in order to Perform regular backup jobs, verify backup integrity and data recovery on various platform such as Windows OS, PLC systems, leak testers, Vision Systems and offline test equipmentIndividuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:Currently pursuing Electrical/Software Engineering or Computer ScienceAbility to partner & work independentlyAbility to apply engineering fundamentals & conceptsFailure Analysis and characterizationData Analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC)Design components/subsystems using CADIntegrate new designs into existing processesAbility to generate test plans, provide short-loop test methods and tools to allow risk assessmentAbility to work and interact effectively with team members from other disciplines, cultures, organizationsTeamwork and ability to collaborate and communicate ideas is highly valuedGrowth mindsetTechnical Skillset – AdvantagePossess knowledge in using operating systems such as MS Windows/Office environment.Knowledge on Backup and Storage systemsCompetent in a factory automation environment ie. able to debug and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) as well as other factory automation hardware/software such as digital input output, sensors and switches, motion controlCandidate is proficient in Allen Bradley PLC ladder programming knowledgeBasic experience in configuring of IT network infrastructure to support the daily operation. Some understanding of networking basics of TCP/IP such as configuring IP addresses, ping commands, etc. Ability to configure new switches, identify faulty network component such as network card, cable, network port, switches and etcBasic understanding on security configuration. Basic understanding of Anti Virus working mechanism with ability to install/manage Anti Virus deployment.Machine vision software and hardware (bonus).
