Our team of design researchers guide design partners and cross-functional teams at ebay to discover, interpret, and act upon insights and opportunities in an inspiring way. We contribute to all phases of product development, and influence product and business strategy while we're at it.We are in search of a Quantitative UX Researcher who is passionate about gathering and analyzing data to understand people’s behaviors to inform and drive data-driven decisions. You will work with a team of researchers focused on eBay's seller community to produce data-driven, mixed-methods research based on any and all of eBay’s existing sources of user data, as well as new ones we come up with when needed. In collaboration with mixed-methods researchers, you will prepare overviews that will catalyze design and strategic decisions. You will support some product teams directly with evaluative and/or A/B testing of new designs, both prior to launch as prototypes, and directly on the site as live code.Responsibilities:Gather, triangulate and report on behavioral and attitudinal data in ways that have impacted design and development of products and servicesRun large-scale surveys, experimental design tests, statistical analyses, developing reports and building dashboardsCollaborate closely with or taking on roles such as Data Analyst, Market researcher, Data Scientist and Research OperationsTurn raw data into insights that inform partners across technical and non-technical roles in a way that inspires actionRequirements:5+ years of relevant work experience in Data Analysis, Data Science, User Experience Human-Computer Interaction, applied product research roles, and/or product development along with Advanced coursework in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Statistics, Data Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceExperience programming surveys in Qualtrics and running multi-country, multi-language recruitmentAbility to write eloquent, accessible surveys in user-friendly language that maximize learnings while minimizing cognitive load on respondentsExperience in programming languages commonly used for data manipulation and computational statistics (such as Python, R, SQL). Experience with SparkSQL is a bonusDemonstrated expertise in sampling, weighting, descriptive statistics, multivariate statistics, experimental design and basic inferential statisticsAbility to build live dashboards and articulate strategies for dashboard design. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
