a Commercial Clinical Segment Head here at Illumina, you will report to the Head of the Strategic Growth organization, the Commercial Segment Head of Clinical is the strategic commercial lead for Europe region and acts as the sales liaison for HQ based functions including product marketing.The role is responsible for building out a Commercial Segment Clinical team and for working with the specialist teams and sales management across countries and sub-regions to help drive sales execution and velocity to meet financial targets and collaborate closely with other regional commercial support functions, such as regional marketing, market development, medical affairs, market access, gov affairs and business development. Illumina's employee benefits are industry-leading and include, Responsibilities: Responsible for managing the Commercial Segment Clinical team, covering Oncology, Reproductive Health, Genetic Disease Testing, and infectious Disease.Responsible for developing the regional business plan to support both the revenue and strategic growth related to the Sales Specialists covering the clinical market segments across the Europe region.Partner with country/subregional sales specialist teams and management in the execution of strategies to target and win large/strategic opportunities within the current and future Clinical segments:Develop and maintain strong relationships with EU KOL and scientific strategic groups/initiatives collaboratively with regional marketing to help sales in the region and globally.Coordinate commercial actions for multi-country segment specific projects, initiatives.Identify and develop regional growth strategies for incremental revenues in segment with cross-functional teams.Provide yearly forecast and develop sales targets during budget cycle process in alignment with regional sales management.Consolidate at European level and communicate on quarterly basis updates to SLT country/subregional business performance analysis, trends and any issues/challenges related to specific product lines/market performance, competitor activities, or other issues emerging in Europe.Provide pricing governance for segment-specific products in region, and support cross regional pricing socializations.Develop and maintain close relationship with important HQ functions such as Product Marketing or Development to secure appropriate product focus for successful launches.Gather from specialists and other commercial team product performance, feature requirements and aggregate voice of customers from sales channels to inform product roadmap.Advises the Sr Leadership team on strategic direction and opportunities within the Clinical segments according regional 5 years strategic plan.Transfers segment knowledge to country/subregional sales specialists, ensuring segment knowledge is current, new employees are effectively onboarded and cross-district information sharing and learning is enabled.Empower country/subregional sales specialist teams by:Supporting the execution of strategic plansMaintaining and growing the specialist network across Europe for good practices sharing, success stories and impactful value proposition.Secure proper market and product training to protect and grow expertise among sales specialist team.Act as a central point of contact in Europe for sales specialist in case of complex, competitive deals requiring support.Ensure a high level of collaboration with other departments (Med Affairs, Mkt Access, Marketing, Customer Solutions, Business development and Market Development) and local sales team and staff to ensure coordination of activities and understanding of common goals.Utilizes global relationships in Sales Operations, Marketing, Sales and Business development to establish best practices, remove barriers, realize sales opportunities and ensure Europe voice for Clinical segment is heard.Responsible for ensuring that Illumina’s commitment to customer satisfaction is performed, delivered, and constantly improved, being strong advocate for voice of customer.Contributes to initiation, adoption, implementation of broader Sales Specialist team initiatives in Europe.Understands, provides input and possesses an in-depth and broad perspective on different regional markets within Europe.Position Requirements: Extensive knowledge of at least one of the clinical focused markets of Illumina.Experience in selling IVD device and solutions in Europe.  Customer facing experience in a Sales-related function.A network of established clinical and diagnostics customer relationships.Demonstrated proactiveness in initiating and accomplishing tasks.Experience in reporting basic financial data.Exceptional communication skills.Proven ability to lead and influence a broad spectrum of constituents (internal and external stakeholders and key opinion leaders in the field) with divergent interests to create a defined and focused course of action.Uses independent judgement in developing methods, techniques, or evaluation criteria for obtaining results.Ability to travel within Europe to carry out primary responsibilities, must be willing to travel up to 40%.Preferred Experience/Education/Skills: Typically requires an advanced degree; minimum 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD.Typically has 10+ years of direct work experience in clinical or diagnostic fields.Comfortable using enterprise level software such as CRM system and data/financial reporting tools.Applies broad management, functional expertise/knowledge
