Procurement EngineerDescription -As a Procurement Engineer you will lead assigned Quality initiatives, perform procurement activities, manage customized commodities, quality, build up supplier capability, establish rapport and relationship and ensure delivery to high quality expectations. What a Procurement Engineer does at HP:Manages global engineering relationship with one or more key suppliers of external components and materials for the development and manufacturing of a product.  Reviews and evaluates supplier designs, processes, and activities for compliance with Company manufacturing guidelines, quality processes, and standards.Provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure.Leads engineering and customer feedback for supplier products; communicates and collaborates with management, both internal HP team, and external suppliers.Work with manufacturing and partners to develop and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.Drives innovation and integration of new supplier technologies and company quality initiatives into product design and manufacturing.Perform scheduled HP quality audits.Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:Bachelor's degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.Typically 4-6 years experience.Experience in flexible films, coatings, rotary die cut knowledge is preferred. Prior experience in FPC (flexible printed circuit)would be advantageous.Knowledge in Part Specifications - part dimensions standards and tolerancesControl plan and FMEA.Change management process and documentation for implementation.Knowledge of failure analysis methods Experience at working both independently and a team-oriented, in a collaborative environment.Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English - ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders.Knowledge and experience in NPI and leading a cross functional team is an added advantage.Experience on measuring equipment like CMM, Smart scope, gauges, measurement fixtures is an added advantage.Understanding & interpreting various Failure Analysis methods (FTIR, XPS, EDX) is an added advantage.Sustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
