As a Patent Analyst, you will be responsible for performing a comprehensive search and written opinion on the patentability of an array of diverse technologies. This is an awesome opportunity for anyone with experience (work or education) in mechanical engineering or life sciences by using your knowledge in a nonconventional way.About you – experience, education, skills, and accomplishmentsWork Experience or Education in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering or Life SciencesAt least 1 to 3 years of previous patent examining or patent searching experienceMust be a U.S. citizen or work eligible legal resident who has continuously resided in the U.S. for at least the two previous yearsAbility to obtain a Public Trust ClearanceBachelor’s DegreeIn-depth knowledge of technical literature in the area of medical devices/life sciencesDemonstrated work experience or projects completed during education requiring extremely high attention to detailHighly skilled in developing search methodology and conducting searchesStrong time management skills and dependability in completing quality projects against deadlinesIt would be great if you also hadMaster’s or PhD in a related fieldWhat will you be doing in this role? On a weekly basis, accept projects with a defined due date.Demonstrate the ability to read a disclosure quickly and understand the technical nuances which may potentially distinguish it from the prior art.Perform a comprehensive search to ensure the most relevant prior art is located and provide a logical and complete search history.Prepare a written opinion applying the most relevant prior art to the disclosure.Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and other proprietary databases of technical publications.Stay abreast of best practices and changes to search procedures via a self-directed review of materials provided by Clarivate.Maintain consistent timelines and superior quality of deliverables.Ensure compliance with Clarivate’s Code of Business Ethics and Corporate ConductAbout the teamOur team has supported the USPTO by providing PCT Chapter I Search and Examination services since 2005 (formerly as Landon IP and CPA Global).Hours of WorkThis is a full-time remote position, Monday-FridayThe expected base salary for this position is a base salary of $50,000 USD per year with eligibility for productivity earnings. Individual pay is based upon experience, education, skill and ability, expertise, and relevant factors.
