MTS 1, Software Engineer

eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in Austin, TXJob Duties: Research, analyze, design, develop and test software solutions using large scale web software applications for eBay marketplace’s after sales features including Cancel, Return, eBay Money Back Guarantee, Feedback, and Seller Standards as per the business and technological requirements. Participate in software design discussions, code reviews and software project related team meetings in an Agile environment. Develop software to enhance eBay marketplace’s eBay Money Back Guarantee and Can product user experience. Work with other engineers, architects, product management, quality assurance, and operation teams to develop innovative applications and solutions that meet business requirements with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and alignment to development principles and product goals. Resolve software product issues by applying technical and domain expertise using issue tracking systems like JIRA. Develop data-driven applications using RDBMS, NoSQL and big data solutions such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Kafka, Storm. Utilize the knowledge and experience in practicing Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), architectural and design patterns, open source platforms, frameworks, technologies and software engineering methodologies.Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or closely related field plus four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.Special Skill Requirements: One year of experience with the following:(1) Object Oriented Programming with Java(2) RESTful Webservices(3) Spring Framework(4) RDBMS(5) Perforce (Source control)(6) JavaScript(7) HTML(8) CSS(9) Agile Methodologies(10) Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.  Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
