We’re currently looking for a Translation Specialist (German-speaking) who is excited about championing continuous improvement of our quality driven operational workflow for translated patent content, by optimizing the use of editorial resources to enhance our content, carrying out quality analysis to optimize our workflow and operational practices, and providing oversight of the master dictionaries and translation memory. You’ll be reporting to Linguist Team Manager & be a member of the Translation team. We would love to speak to use if you have excellent knowledge of German & English language & would like to learn more about the intellectual property industry.About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishmentsExcellent level of English language (C1/C2)Excellent level of German language (C1/C2)Bachelor’s degree (Languages, Engineering or Life Sciences) or equivalent work experienceIt would be great if you also had . . .Experience with CAT toolsKnowledge of French and/or Dutch languageIntellectual property experienceExcellent attention to detail, customer-driven approach & problem-solving skillsWhat will you be doing in this role?Analyze quality checks from weekly publications of patents to drive weekly selection and allocation of translated patent records for editorial enhancement; review editorial suggestions applied to local translation dictionaries, approve valid suggestions and oversee updates to master dictionaries and translation memories.Review incoming translations and revisions from suppliers, recording any quality issues and logging the assessment of the translation’s quality, while respecting the several quality checks, the customer deadlines, customer specificities, internal procedures and templates, quality standards and KPI’s.Manage customer cases assigned by the Customer Service Desk and operational requests for translation enhancement, allocate retranslation/enhancement requests and manage any associated updates to the master dictionaries and translation memory; provide data analysis and reporting from periodic quality benchmarking reviews; provide analysis and suggestions for process and content improvements as part of daily role or through participation in project teams.Provide quality assurance checks for the translation of assignee, inventor, agent names translations and address data.Life sciences specific tasks: maintaining the timeliness and accuracy of investigational drug content on Cortellis Competitive Intelligence (CCI, https://www.cortellis.com/intelligence/) and other products within the Life Sciences portfolio. Supporting the Global Editorial Operations group, the Translations Group gathers and analyses a variety of scientific and industry source data to provide value-add content for these databases, while the Business of Science team make efforts to provide comprehensive and timely data on Cortellis platform, including CCI, CRI (Cortellis Regulatory Intelligence), CTI (Cortellis Clinical Trial Intelligence) and CDI (Cortellis Deal Intelligence), etc.About the TeamWe are a global team of more than 10 colleagues based in different locations in Europe and South-East Asia.
