Lead Software Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team. This is an amazing opportunity to work on our Vega Product Suite, a next generation public library engagement suite. We are a team of 5 Engineers, and we are looking for someone to support us on both front end (Angular, React) and backend (Java), as well as help us design the product. You like to roll up your sleeves and not only work with a team but be involved in the leadership as well! About You… experience, education, skills, and accomplishments 5+ years of total development experience 3+ years of React or Angular experience 5+ years of Java development experience 2+ years with Spring, Spring Boot 2+ years' experience with AWS technologies and AWS Serverless 2+ years’ experience with API development 3+ years OO design and development methodologies. What will I be doing? The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for guiding development practices, team building, and developing software in a collaborative environment employing Agile development methodologies and helping design and build our entire user experience.  Contribute materially to team efforts to design, build, test, and support new and existing applications in an agile environment. Assist team efforts with the identification, design, and implementation of solutions for new features and software defects. Produces high-quality and on-time deliverables according to planned project goals. Supports QA testing efforts and assist colleagues in troubleshooting production problemsRecommend additions and enhancements to project architecture and technology selection and best practice discussions and related decisions. Product you will be developing:  The Vega project is a very forward-thinking engagement and customer relations suite of tools for public libraries, to help library administrators reach out to and involve both their patrons and their communities in with more directed and personalized interactions.  Vega is an AWS based SaaS multi-tenant platform, with multiple cross functional components which combine to deliver a unified, connected data experience across a library’s internal and marketing data, to a customer interaction management suite that is available for use by public libraries worldwide!   About the Team:We are a global team of 5 full stack engineers, working on development of web based application, creating new AI features and enhancing the Vega discover application.
