Mentors junior team members and makes strong tactical decisions to resolve project issues. Manages construction project costs, methods, and project team selection. ResponsibilitiesProject ManagementLeads regional data center construction programsProvides guidance and project leadership including ground up data center construction, remodels, renovations, etc., ensuring projects are meeting or exceeding company expectations Vendor RelationsResponsible for up to 20 external vendors per project comprising General Contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.Supports maintenance of high value relationshipsContract AdministrationConducts appropriate construction contract administration procedures including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentationLeadershipProvides management and leadership across construction project management team to ensure the team's growth is in alignment with Operations' goals and strategyWorks with project management team to set individual goalsMentors junior team members as neededResponsibility for internal and external project team members including internal Design, Procurement, Operations, and IT/Network support teams Policy & Procedure DevelopmentContributes to creating and maintaining best in class data center construction project management policies and proceduresQualificationsExtensive construction management experience including in highly technical critical facility construction projectsData center construction experience strongly preferredProven experience in project management in a critical facility construction environmentBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field of engineering, construction management, architectureAbility and willingness to travel (Approx. 30% of time) throughout the US with specific focus on Northern VirginiaTeam leadership experienceStrong stakeholder management and collaboration including vendor managementSelf-motivated and flexibleIn-depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry standard methodologiesExperienced in construction procurement methodologiesMS Office including MS Project, Excel, and Visio skillsEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
