We are looking for an outstanding Software Development Engineer to join our Analytics Performance and Scalability Engineering team. Performance Software Engineers are highly skilled engineers who debug, measure, analyze, and improve our Workday Big Data Analytics applications and infrastructure by working closely with all our engineering teams throughout the release cycle.About YouBasic Qualifications (Senior Software Engineer)7+ years in performance engineering, including benchmarking large-scale systems & applications 7+ years scripting and programming with Java, Scala, Python, or Shell3+ years using observability & APM tools.Other QualificationsBS or greater degree in Computer Science, Math, or related fieldExperience with distributed systems & understanding the internals of typical big data systems (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Kubernetes, etc.) Experience working with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, GCP, etc.) Deep understanding of JVM internals, performance profiling, and optimizationExperience in analyzing thread & memory dumps for bottlenecks Good understanding of system internals, architecture, & designOur Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
