This makes Flash Array not only a block but a truly unified block and file storage. However FA File still lacks certain performance improvements and many new NAS features. Therefore we are seeking for a FA File Principal Software Engineer.  To complete the unified storage experience the FlashArray team is adding a world class NAS server with teams in California, Sweden and now Prague! Development will include NAS protocol features, advanced data protection, enterprise application integration, and a world class continuous integration environment to enable cloud speed delivery to enterprise storage features. Now is a super exciting time to be on the global FlashArray team! ABOUT THIS ROLE... We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, implementing and optimizing highly available and low-latency NAS implemented in C++. FA File speaks SMB and NFS, allows replication, has quotas and much more. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL... Design, develop and implement missing file protocol features of FlashArray in a scalable, secure and highly available manner. Optimize the existing features so that they scale better, meet higher performance criteria and/or are more secure. Improve the SW design, codebase and processes so that the FA File feature teams can proceed more efficiently. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams on best practices for developing, deploying and operating the FA File feature. Participate in planning the product roadmap and analyzing the scope of the newly developed features. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE... FA File principal software engineer should be able to design and implement highly scalable, reliable, and secure software. They should understand parallel computing and asynchronous programming models. Our new principal software engineer must be able to quickly understand the existing implementation and adapt the solutions to reflect the current codebase. Ideally, they should know NFS and SMB protocols, understand TCP/IP protocol, networking and be able to perform performance benchmarking and optimization. They should be a great communicator and exemplary leader so that the best-practices are spread and adopted among the feature teams. They should be familiar with DevOps practices and should be able to maintain and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and processes of our product in order to improve efficiency of the teams. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and implementing software. Experience with system software engineering in C++. At least basic/user knowledge of file protocols and NAS features. You will be based in Prague, Czech Republic. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week.
