As a member of the Satellite Connectivity Group, you will work on the satellite network that enables connectivity to iPhone when off the grid without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. Every day, Apple customers use Emergency SOS via satellite to access emergency assistance when they are in need of help and have no other means to communicate. Our team is looking for a motivated Engineering Program Manager to collaborate with internal and external partners to realize, maintain, and operate the distributed software systems that make the satellite network work. As a part of this team, you will influence and contribute to all aspects of the system stack from network management and monitoring, access network, network core, to user applications. This candidate, individually and through a team of reporting EPMs, will help define, prioritize, drive, and report on these large-scale software system development, test, integration, deployment, and operations efforts. By skillfully balancing an attention to details with a grasp of the “big-picture,” this candidate will be instrumental in helping the overall team realize key objectives across a diverse array of technologies. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Experience with the design, development, and deployment of distributed systems enabling services with defined service performance standards (e.g. SLAs and SLOs). Demonstrated technical program management skills in environments that included both internal and external contributors. Broad software exposure from on-device to distributed systems, preferably mobile wireless networks (e.g. LTE, 5G). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to adapt communication style as required for different audiences. A curious mind that thrives in collaborative, fast moving, and ambiguous environments.
