We have an opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to lead a team of Process, Test, Dfx, and SQE Engineers in the development of Cables and accessories. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Expertise in cable design and manufacturing with emphasis in at least three of these categories: 1. Cable prepping: mechanical and laser stripping (of jackets, shields and dielectrics), conductor fan-out and pitch alignment techniques 2. Cable termination: soldering techniques such as spot soldering and hot bar reflow 3. Cable assembly test and inspection. Inspection equipment specification and operation knowledge a must. 4. Bulk cable manufacturing: Expertise in extrusion, shielding, bundling, and jacketing. 5. Laser welding of shells and cages. 6. Over-molding, insert molding, injection molding processes. 7. Mechanical and electrical testing including fixtures involved: Flex, Pull, Bending, EMI, and SI. Min 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Design / Manufacturing Process Development with proficiency in the following areas : 1. GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing), 2. Metrology Techniques 3. Statistical process control, FMEA. Six Sigma knowhow is highly desirable. 4. Machining processes, Design For Manufacturability. Excellent project management skills, working in a matrix organization Demonstrable track record of managing a multi-functional team to achieve new product objectives inclusive of quality, yield and cost Direct experience leading a functional engineering team is a plus Design or development experience along with operations experience preferred Proven bottom line project management experience (Planning, Cost & Delivery) Experience working with international OEM partners Must be a self starter with innovation, integrity and attention to details Description Description As Technical Project Manager, your responsibilities during development phase includes: - Acting as bridge between Apple Design and suppliers’ manufacturing teams - Engage with Apple Design and Program Management teams at beginning stage of NPI and give continuous feedback based on manufacturing process development and evolution - Provide technical assessment of existing or new manufacturing partners - Identify manufacturing processes to meet product design - Develop test processes to ensure quality - Work with suppliers to develop fixtures to ensure correct performance and mechanical requirement You will also serve as Senior Operations technical lead / manager during all engineering builds as well as ramp, providing a single technical voice to product project teams. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all technical risks associated with a product are identified and closed or mitigated to enable the quality ramp of a product. You will identify, prioritize and manage key technical risks of a given product and ensure a smooth handoff of product to Supplier Quality Engineering. Drive as technical lead in resolving complex issues during bring-up and life of product, identifying technical changes needed in order to support operations product manager as needed throughout the life of the product. Through all phases of development and product introduction, to partner closely with Engineering teams as well as work with various Operational Program teams to enable success of the new product introduction.
