We are part of the Video Engineering group at Apple, responsible for creating the image and video core technologies used an all Apple products and services. In this role, you will develop system software for the image and video compression, implement features for many well loved applications like camera capture, professional video editing and the image and video processing pipeline on a vast variety of devices and multiple platforms. As a system software engineer you will work on image and video subsystem drivers and firmware, new video compression, processing and streaming features, power and performance optimization, hardware bringup and productization. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills Good understanding of system software fundamentals Solid programming skills (C or C++ coding) Highly motivated to learn new concepts and technologies Ability to work in a collaborative environment Good written and oral interpersonal skills Description Description You will work closely with silicon teams on bringing up new HW platforms, debugging issues, as well as working on the roadmap for future generations. You will also work closely with many teams in the software stack to implement new features, optimize power and perf, and debug customer facing issues. You will work on developing improving and maintaining the system software for video processing across multiple platforms. Building code thats scalable for multiple devices and debugging complex problems in user and kernel mode are some of the key requirements for this role. Multi-functional collaboration, strong team spirit and quick grasp of new concepts is key to this role. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
