The Carrier Engineering Account Manager is responsible for Carrier technical management and certification of Apple’s cellular devices with telecommunication carriers in Japan and other selected countries. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 8 years of telecommunication industry experience, preferably in Japan 5 years of program/project management experience Proactive and able to be firm with carriers/vendors Ability to work in cross functional teams and manage customer interfaces Solid planning and communication skills Experience with cellular standards, especially 3GPP/ETSI standards, current and emerging Experience with protocol stack features, specifically for GSM/EDGE, WCDMA, LTE, 5G Experience managing carrier certification of cellular products, together with detailed knowledge and understanding of carrier requirements Familiarity with network features and current industry deployments Description Description The Carrier Engineering Account Manager will work together with a team of highly skilled test engineers and developers based in Japan and abroad. The Carrier Engineering Account Manager provides the key interface between carrier engineering teams and test labs and Apple’s internal test and development teams. They will manage carrier test projects, including scheduling and coordination of test sessions for new devices and software updates, ensuring all issues are tracked and reported back to the development teams. The candidate will apply their detailed technical knowledge of cellular standards (GSM, EDGE, CDMA, WCDMA, LTE, 5G, VoLTE etc) to understand, prioritise and resolve issues found during device certification testing. The role will also support the future cellular product definition process, particularly with regard to carrier network features and how they intersect with Apple’s roadmap.
