Reporting to the VP Retail, the Director of Store Real Estate is responsible for all new store development, planning, construction, and real estate operations for The RealReal store locations across the United States. You will oversee all retail real estate locations including new space build outs, store openings, remodels, refreshes, and manage all vendors. Our ideal candidate has a background in retail construction management and real estate and is excited about acting as a hands-on leader for our growing company in a high-visibility role.
This position can be located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or NYC.
What You Get To Do Every Day
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure real estate projects are completed on time and within budget
Partner with the real estate vendors to support the procurement / transaction process from identification through to deal execution of new locations
Coordinate all permits and construction resources to ensure successful and safe end-to-end process
Act as point of contact for internal and external partners; i.e.legal teams, landlords, construction contractors
Oversee the project management of leases, both financial and contractual, to ensure the process is organized and moving forward to achieve deadlines
Prepare presentations and project updates; deliver to project partners and senior leadership teams
Ensure accuracy of promotional presentation, including visual signage, key item placement, and seasonal fashion trend statements
Oversee the execution of creative props, signage, and all elements of store updates
Ensure store openings, remodels and refresh projects hit financial targets
What You Bring To The Role
10+ years’ experience in retail store development roles
5+ years of experience leading a high performing team
Strong understanding of the retail property market, including local market conditions
Experience in building and managing a network of contractors, consultants, legal team, etc.
Robust commercial real estate acumen and understanding of P&L
Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs
Preferred Requirements
Proficiency in Excel and other data analytics tools

The expected salary range for this role is $177,953 - $192,670. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
