Position Overview:
Reporting into HR Operations, the Director, Total Rewards will serve as a trusted organizational leader responsible for the design and delivery of Diligent’s compensation philosophy and the strategic management of employee-related benefits and services that are able to effectively support a global employee base. The successful candidate will lead strategy development, design, implementation, administration, and governance of all compensation programs and benefit programs, globally for the company. This role will partner with senior business leaders, and the HR leadership team to translate business strategy into meaningful Total Rewards strategies that are effective in attracting, rewarding and retaining key talent. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of scaling compensation and benefits programs and practices, with a track record of conceptualizing successful strategies, leading action plans, and driving the execution of organizational goals. This position requires an ability to think strategically about problems as well as a knack for tactical execution.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and drive the compensation and benefits strategies and programs that attract, reward and retain key talent populations.
Lead global job evaluation, job classification/reclassification, salary structures, benefit plans and retirement program benchmarking.
Drive competitive and attractive total rewards strategies that are cost-effective and consistent with market trends and aligned to Company’s business priorities
Provide thought leadership, and consultation to senior leaders on the global development of total rewards methodologies and philosophy, including supporting policies, practices, systems and external partners.
Own and operate all compensation and benefit programs including incentive programs, recurring compensation cycles, compensation program targets, benefit changes/enhancements, annual benefit enrollment program, wellness initiatives, etc.
Partners closely with Finance and Legal divisions to ensure the organization’s total rewards plans, programs, policies, and initiatives are compliant and affordable while ensuring they are competitive and consistent with the organization’s objectives.
Manages total reward third-party vendors to ensure best in class service, employee experience, and cost is being provided to Diligent
Support the Retirement Plan Committee. Provides administrative, regulatory and investment responsibility oversight ensuring compliance with ERISA’s fiduciary principles
Ensures metrics are established and maintained to evaluate effectiveness of total rewards programs
Leads, develops and mentors a team that is responsible for the day to day administration of total rewards delivery to associates and sales teams. Establishes operational objectives, expectations and work plans, and delegates assignments to the team
Required Experience/Skills
10 years' relevant experience in global compensation and benefits with emphasis on multi-national employee populations.
Experience scaling an effective, and impactful, rewards function that supports the company's business goals and growth, with a strong awareness of best practices.
Expertise in the development of strategy and administration of compensation and benefits including Executive compensation.
Exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to keep stakeholders informed and included in a way that builds trust. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience performing complex reporting and analysis. Strong analytical, mathematical, statistical, and conceptual skills; Excel expertise is required.
Excellent business and People Operations acumen; comfortable navigating ambiguity and thriving in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment. Proven ability to think strategically and to translate strategic directives into tactical initiatives.
