This role will also work with product teams, analysts and other engineers to design systems and application software, and mentor junior members of the team. This position is part of the Edge Infrastructure Services organization, whose mission is to bring cloudlike access to Equinix’s platform.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, implement, and maintain a solution for a high-performance networking and compute platformClosely collaborate with Product Management and internal stakeholders to ensure good product-market fit and directionFoster an efficient build-it and run-it culture, blurring the lines between operations and development, reducing time to fix issuesEngage with global Equinix community both internally and externallyFacilitate cross-stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment on compute platform requirements and design trade-offs, while considering performance, scalability, and reliability factorsBring passion, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to the teamMentor though pair programming, review, and discussionQualificationsRecent and proficient experience with Golang (Go)Strong experience in building and operating highly reliable distributed systemsStrong understanding of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, CSI, and CNI.Proficiency in Linux concepts such as PCI devices, kernel capabilities, and qemu virtualizationProficient in using continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as ArgoCD and GitHub ActionsSolid understanding of Network Function Virtualization (NFV), networking protocols, DPDK and/or VPPExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve distributed system issuesModel great engineering by writing and reviewing code and socializing the team’s workExcellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey findings, recommendations, and technical details to various stakeholdersHave worked in a globally distributed teamContinuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trendsEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
