Global Policy and Strategy Associate Fellow - Military Bridge ProgramDescription -Program Overview HP is partnering with Hiring Our Heroes for a 12-week Fellowship Program with transitioning service members in their last 180 days of service. During these 12 weeks, participants will get hands on training and experience in the private sector with the end goal of gaining the skills needed to be successful in the civilian workforce. HP will provide the participants with a direct Supervisor, Mentor and Buddy to help them succeed throughout the 12-week program and help them gain valuable skills as they transition out of the military and into the civilian workforce. Job DescriptionThe position will be responsible for supporting geopolitical analysis, developing scenarios and options, and identifying related risks or opportunities for the company. This is an ideal opportunity for a service member with a background in intelligence and/or strategy.Responsibilities:Develop research, analysis, and communication skills required to translate geopolitical developments to a corporate executive audience.Learn how geopolitical dynamics affect a US technology company.Gain understanding of how the private sector interacts with global government stakeholders.Influences existing strategy on a range of public policy issues to help identify, win, maintain and grow HP Inc. public sector business.Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding project progress.Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.Grow the team’s network and develop advocacy and engagement plans to deliver on policy priorities.Develop materials and strategies for external thought leadership.Participate in other projects to help grow the business.Knowledge and Skills:Demonstrated experience in legislative and regulatory issues that affect technology companies.Highly independent self-starter.Experience coordinating multiple projects with multiple stakeholders to a tight deadline.Excellent analytical and writing skills.Advanced PowerPoint skills.Experience with intelligence analysis and military strategies.Familiarity with acquisition and logistics in the context of global supply chains.Comfortable providing advice and counsel to senior management in a fast-paced and distributed environment.Outstanding organizational abilities including the capacity to collaborate with regional teams and manage several different workstreams at one time.Intellectual curiosity, flexibility to learn and manage new issues.Fluency in English, other languages an asset.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or demonstrated competence.
