You will support the Tax Manager in managing the relationship with tax authorities and foster seamless collaboration with global/regional Finance and Tax teams, and other business stakeholders to ensure the adherence of tax compliance governance and tax process maintained in the region. In addition, as Illumina continues to grow globally into new and existing markets, you will lead or participate in business expansion initiatives, system enhancement and other strategic projects as assigned.Tasks and Responsibilities:Job duties include but not limited to:-Prepare/review monthly and/or quarterly GST/VAT returns of Australia, Korea, India, New Zealand and Singapore entitiesHandle all aspects of indirect tax matters, including commenting on the GST/VAT treatment and managing any GST/VAT audit/queries from tax authoritiesCollate information and work with tax agents in respect of the completion of direct tax returns and queries from the tax authority.Prepare withholding tax return(s) as and when arises and advise on day-to-day withholding tax issuesSupport accounting team in year-end statutory audit, and month-end close activities relating to tax accounts reconciliation/provision calculations are performed on timeParticipate in tax project(s) as and when assigned by the Tax Manager.Perform research and analysis on tax issues and tax planning opportunitiesPreferred Experiential Background:Minimum 5-6 year experience in accounting/ GST from Big 4/ industry; APAC tax exposure is a plus but not a mustProficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft ExcelPrior experience in SAP (or equivalent ERP system) and system enhancement experience is preferred but not a mustGood organizational skills, highly detailed oriented and ability to work with minimal supervision and independentlyAbility to work in within tight timeline, fast paced environment and a multi-taskerAbility to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environmentExcellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills#LI-HYBRID#illuminacareersIllumina believes that everyone has the ability to make an impact, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunity regardless of sex, race, creed, color, gender, religion, marital status, domestic partner status, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, pregnancy, military or veteran status, citizenship status, and genetic information.
