Senior Privacy EngineerDescription -HP is revolutionizing the way our customers experience and use our products and the way HP is doing business. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Expert Privacy Engineer to make substantial contributions to a wide array of privacy initiatives. This will ensure aligned data architecture with GDPR implementation and develop platforms to advance HP’s compliance with all legal forms of data use. The position will also strategically work to align data architecture practices with Data Governance and Privacy by Design principles at the earliest stages in development and make sure that the accumulation, analysis, and actions the business chooses which data meet established requirements. This role will assist in developing frameworks and data mapping solutions through programs, reviews, and initiatives in the areas of privacy, data protection, governance, and security. It also includes responsibility for implementing requirements and processes to ensure HP’s high ethical standards are met throughout the data use lifecycle. The Expert Privacy Engineer will contribute to existing code bases and develop new code bases using a variety of tech stacks. Expert skills with Python, Typescript/Javascript, Java, or any combination thereof are prerequisite. Inherent with those skills is a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms and the judgement to use them. Expertise with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines, either in the data engineering space or backend/frontend engineering spaces are also prerequisite. The ability to operate with initiative and tolerance for the vague and/or ambiguous with evolving requirements should also be anticipated when innovating in new, uncharted spaces. A successful candidate will also possess strong facility with Agile development practices, in addition to tooling that supports them (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).The Expert Privacy Engineer will be responsible for interactions with internal Privacy Engineering, Data Engineering, Compliance, Governance, and Data Protection teams to build and implement data privacy strategies and roadmaps. The right candidate will also be required to be an active industry participant and contributor in Privacy Architecture forums and organizations. They must be excellent communicators and have the ability to translate the complex into understandable and actionable forms. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $116,900-169,500. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
