VP and GM of Professional ServicesDescription -The VP and GM of Professional Services is a global role responsible for overseeing the portfolio of consultative and transformation practices and the successful delivery of high-quality professional services to our clients. This leader will drive the strategy, innovation, and execution of our practices while also focusing on building a global organization of talented, motivated people supporting the growth objectives of our Personal Systems, Printing, and Services business units. This Leader will be responsible for the definition, delivery, and overall P&L of multiple Professional Services Practices (including our Modern Workforce, Next-Gen Workspace, Security, and all transition and transformation services aligned to our managed services and software solutions.The ideal candidate has experience in a growth-oriented enterprise organization transforming and growing its global Professional Services business unit. Additionally, this candidate will have direct experience in crafting creative and innovative solutions to address business challenges and the consulting practices to support them. The successful leader will be analytical, results-oriented, self-driven, willing to work with ambiguity, and have a “can-do” attitude. The candidate must have a proven track of creation or transforming significant services businesses globally. The candidate should also be excellent at nurturing cross-organization relationships to accomplish goals. Executive presentation skills are a significant part of the role. A passionate and energized change management individual is required to help assess, recommend, evangelize, and implement best industry standards. Experience in the IT industry is required. Experience in the audio / visual industry including collaboration systems, conferencing and telephony is a plus.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management: As the leader of the Professional Services organization, they will be responsible for setting the overall strategic direction for the organization and ensuring that it is aligned with the company's goals and objectives. They must also provide strong leadership and management to the team of professionals working under them.Client Relationship Management: The VP of Professional Services is responsible for managing client relationships and ensuring that the services provided meet their needs and expectations. This may involve working closely with sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities and upsell existing services.Project Management: The VP of Professional Services is responsible for managing the project lifecycle from initiation to delivery. This includes scoping projects, creating project plans and timelines, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.Resource Management: The VP of Professional Services is responsible for managing the department's resources, including people, technology, and processes. They must ensure that the team has the necessary skills and tools to deliver high-quality services to clients.Performance Management: The VP of Professional Services is responsible for setting performance goals for the team and monitoring progress against those goals. They must provide regular feedback and coaching to team members and ensure that they have the necessary training and development opportunities.Risk Management: The VP of Professional Services is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with service delivery. This may involve working with legal and compliance teams to ensure that services comply with applicable laws and regulations.Continuous Improvement: The VP of Professional Services is responsible for identifying areas for improvement in the department's processes, systems, and services. They must work closely with other departments to implement improvements and drive overall business performance.Experience:Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred).Typically, 10+ years of senior management experience, including leading global teams.5+ years of leadership experience managing a global team of 50 or more.A deep understanding of the IT industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities. This leader should also have knowledge of the various functions and roles within the professional services industry, as well as an understanding of the different types of clients and their needs.Experience in delivering high-quality services to clients. This includes project management, resource management, and client relationship management.Experience leading a large organization to achieve today’s goals while simultaneously transforming it for the futureA strong understanding of business principles, including finance, marketing, and strategy. They should be able to align the services provided with the overall business objectives and ensure that the department is operating efficiently and profitably.Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team, manage resources effectively, and provide clear direction and guidance.Experience in sales and business development, including identifying new opportunities and upselling existing services.
