As the thrill of live events returns, we're unifying our fan platforms into a single best-in-class global design system and experience to help millions of fans all over the world access the live entertainment they love and make unforgettable memories.We're looking for an experienced Associate Director in Core Services, Global Design Systems (GDS) who can shape this new future with our amazing global team and embark on this exciting journey with us.THE JOB As Associate Director - Core Services, Global Design Systems (GDS),you will be managing the Global Design System team, responsible for scalable & modular systems development, art direction, standard setting, and adoption across our product portfolio. You will lead a team of designers and partner with our internal product design teams (e.g., Marketplace, Sports, Enterprise), internal business partners (e.g., Marketing, Engineering), and white-label product partners adapt the universal toolkit into their products. You will be accountable for the success, speed, and scale of the global design system rollout with the support of your design team.You will spearhead a high profile showcase of the new global design system on a brand new consumer product launch.You will rollout design system support workflows that improve our overall request, design and delivery strategy for short- and medium- term business priorities. As a key influencer, you will be responsible for managing stakeholder expectations, aligning GDS migration efforts to product roadmaps, and developing achievable schedules to ensure strategic goals and timelines are met. You are capable of complex problem solving, defining new design frameworks, and building strategic relationships and alignment with your Product, Engineering and other Design partners. As an inquisitive and fearless editor, you will lend a critical eye to concepts and elevate the quality of delivery in innovation, utility, value generation, scalability, composition, content, and attention to detail. You will pull together relevant user and market insights and launch any additional user research projects necessary to build a world class user experience to our loyal audience.You will role model and coach your team members in design excellence and effective communication and collaboration skills. You’ll manage, pull up, and grow our bench of new design leaders and support them through tactical, day-to-day management and professional development challenges.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGProduct Delivery, Strategic Planning and AlignmentDeliver and scale a best-in-class global design system and resource website for our internal and external partnersBuild a design support workflow for other product, design and functional teams to request, design and deliver an adapted design systemBe accountable for all product design deliverables, processes, and standards for the Global Design System Contribute to how we shape and how our partners engage our Core Services which includes UX/UI design toolkit, user research, market insights, brand principles, and copyTake complex business requirements and synthesize them into actionable design roadmaps and scalable, global UX & brand strategiesIncrease position of influence and get buy-in from other parts of the business to prioritize GDS migration on their roadmap, ensure proper UI toolkit rulesets are applied, and new documentation is mapped back to the GDS website Lead your team to conduct relevant research, generate meaningful insights and use it to inform and transform features into beautiful, intuitive, and conversion-optimised experiencesLend an astute eye to concepts and elevate the quality of delivery in innovation, utility, value generation, scalability, composition, content, and attention to detail Collaborate with and align goals, schedules, and processes with senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional counterparts to meet aims and timelines of Ticketmaster successfully. Develop clear and effective design project plans, including user research and design delivery schedules, for all responsible product areas. Set clear expectations and communicate plans and progress explicitly and consistently with senior management, PMO, Product, Engineering and direct reports. Apply critical thinking and rigor to ensure business, client and end user perspectives have all been accounted for and prioritised in context. Ensure innovation, creativity and exceptional quality are part of the final and built solution. Design Team and Infrastructure Management Lead design requirements discovery and goal clarification workshops.Understand and translate the short, medium and long-term vision and strategic business goals to direct reports. Help stream leads plan and apply appropriate UX & UI design methodologies to validate GDS adoption and integration and to support product objectives. Ensure that Ticketmaster visual identity is integrated sympathetically into features and ensure that visual standards are constantly benchmarked and evolved to ensure competitive edgeTeam Growth, Development, Innovation, and Thought LeadershipManage, pull up, and grow our bench of new design leaders and support them through tactical, day-to-day management and professional development challenges; Coach stream leads how to lead and mentor their own teams. Develop individualized professional development plans for direct reports and coach them through success. Start establishing presence as an expert and evangelize product design through frequent and effective idea shares, communication, and storytelling Develop strong relationships and establish position of influence with counterparts across the organization, beyond the immediate Product, Engineering and Design functions Evaluate and evolve skills to stay relevant; keep skills fresh and be informed of best practices, technical trends and developments Continually introduce new methods and tools to the team to keep team competitive and help Ticketmaster attract and retain world class talentWHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWStrong experience in designing cross-channel design language systems for large scale digital ecosystems (ecommerce systems beneficial)Exceptional grounding in principles, methodology and practices of digital product design with proven hands-on experience in a working environment, i.e. design language systems, UX design, UX research, visual design, interface design, mobile app design, interaction design, content strategy, brand identity, etc. Strong track record of delivering multiple concurrent projects on time and on budgetProven experience in multi-stream team and line management, professional development and mentoringAbility to think critically, to collaborate and to present ideas to senior stakeholders, clients, team members, product managers, and engineersAbility to provide a range of innovative and compositionally strong product design vision/solutions directly as well as through team.
