About the Role:     As a Go to Market (GTM) Associate at Planet, you will contribute to Planet’s efforts to realize early commercial success with our upcoming hyperspectral mission (Tanager). You will use your understanding of remote sensing and the commercial market to build marketing materials, hone the messaging around Planet’s hyperspectral offering, sharpen our GTM efforts, and work with a broad team of experts to refine priority use-cases for the system. You will work across the commercial and product orgs to help clarify messaging and align materials with capabilities and key verticals. You will also interact with Planet customers to understand their use cases and how Tanager may be able to provide solutions. To understand the value proposition of the upcoming hyperspectral product, you will work with Product Manager across several product lines to understand how hyperspectral can augment or expand current customer challenges and look for unique applications that are enabled by Tanager. This Associate position is in the New Missions Pillar and reports to the Tanager Mission Director. The New Missions Pillar is responsible for orchestrating the delivery of new space systems and the successful execution of an initial Go to Market cycle. The group is chartered with developing a repeatable process that integrates new missions into the Planet platform and enables commercial success.  This is a contract position from now to January 31, 2024. Impact You’ll Own: Build and leverage a use case prioritization framework to identify key applications in several key verticals including: agriculture, sustainability & natural resources, industrial and waste management, and civil government Refine Planet’s hyperspectral value proposition by assessing customer needs that can be uniquely filled by Tanager Support technical assessments of Tanager capabilities and leverage cross-functional relationships to drive progress Planet’s hyperspectral program Development internal sales enablement material (written documents, training material) that clearly articulates Tanager’s value add over existing/current workflows.  Development of external product marketing material (slide decks, customer FAQs, white papers, demos) that position Tanager competitively within the markets for each use case.  Help with the identification of strategic partnerships that are best able to serve priority use cases immediately after launch Communicate vertically & horizontally across Planet to keep stakeholders informed of technical progress, priorities, risks, and any changes to requirements or plans What You Bring: 3+ years of relevant commercial/industry experience 3+ years of scientific or engineering experience Technical expertise in hyperspectral imaging Proven experience building use case frameworks, internal and external marketing materials, and GTM initiatives Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills paired with the ability to communicate findings and recommendations What Makes You Stand Out: Advanced degrees in remote sensing or business Demonstrated track record of success when working with complex and ambiguous information  Expertise in the petroleum or mining industries Previous experience working for emerging space based hyperspectral companies and industry partners Demonstrated self-starter who initiates efforts and augments existing programs with new ideas Benefits While Working at Planet: Comprehensive Health Plan Wellness program and onsite massages in specific offices Flexible Time Off Recognition Programs Commuter Benefits Learning and Tuition Reimbursement Parental Leave Offsites and Happy Hours Volunteering Benefits Compensation: The US hourly rate range for this position at the commencement of employment is $47 - $77. The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.
