We are looking for an expert Modem Performance Systems Engineer with deep understanding of wireless technology for 5G (NR FR1/FR2) / 4G (LTE) PHY/MAC. In this technical role, you will be at the center of a silicon design group responsible for physical layer system for innovative wireless SoC products. You will define key-performance-indicators such as throughput, power, and cell-search. You will be part of the system engineering team. You work closely together with teams responsible for algorithm development and verification. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Deep knowledge in 5G (NR FR1/FR2) / 4G (LTE) PHY/MAC as well as end to end system knowledge. Profound knowledge on signal processing, physical layer algorithms and procedures. Experience in modem performance studies and evaluations. Deep understanding and hands-on experience with end to end system performance characterization/testing/tuning. Experience with modem key-performance-indicators such as throughput, power, and cell-search. Solving, analytical, log analysis and problem-solving skills. Experience with Matlab, C++ and JavaScript programming. Expert knowledge in scripting (e.g. Python) and automated analysis. Obsessively passionate and inquisitive, seek to tackle everyday problems in innovative ways. Focused on the smallest details that are significant to our customers. Ability to work in a team and excellent interpersonal skills (English language skills required). Description Description Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- You will be working closely with cross-functional teams in the company to analyze cellular performance.
- Cellular Performance team is always aiming to achieve highest reliability and performance for the next generation of Apple wireless products.
- This role will require profound knowledge on 4G/5G physical layer algorithms/procedures and analyzing modem performance.
- Definition of key-performance-indicator tests.
- Close collaboration with test teams to characterize real silicon in lab and back-annotate the results into the simulation environments. Education & Experience Education & Experience MS in Computer Science or Electrical/Information Engineering with 6+ years of working experience or PhD or equivalent experience in relevant field with 3+ years of working experience.
